Not so fast, Kreider might be done playing in college by then.

what game were u watching man I agree that gabby played bad and you cant blame one player for this loss even though girardi played horible and stall wasent great either. the whole team played real bad no effert no nothing. wolski was one of the beter rangers that actually played decently and created chances and made good decisions with the puck except one on the pp. overall he played good. torts doesent play a guy 19 min if hes playing bad. your the only post on that said that.

anyway rangers can still get in carolina and buffalo got to lose

I don't think an eighth-place finish last year or this year would classify as miraculous. Injuries and inexperience included.

who was the Rangers 2nd best offensive weapon heading into this season? Frolov? And we lost him like 25 games into the season where he was basically MIA? we also have had a pretty putrid season by Gabby, and still we are where we are? Im pretty happy with this season, even if we dont make it. will i be disappointed? Of course. But i still consider this season a success because of how well the kids have developed.

I stopped watching it after 35 seconds because I was sick to my stomach mainly,

and also I wasn't sure who that guy in the video was.

This is a cyclical phenomenon. Why is it cyclical? because think about it, every year we are fighting for the same spots, meaning our draft picks are usually mid first round, and we usually miss that opportunity to grab that star that can change the face of the franchise.

How do you get out of the cycle? It has to be through free agency. The Rangers have done a bad job in free agency, thus continuing the cycle of mediocrity. We have good prospects in the system, but no game breakers.

Either we tank and get that future star, or we start getting smarter and getting the right free agents. If we fail to do either of those, we will constantly be in that same seeding range until something changes.
Except the problem with that theory is that all you are doing is proving a negative.

The only teams that have won by tanking are the Pittsburgh Penguins (and there's been a lot of "help" from one Gary Bettman), and the Chicago Blackhawks that may not even make the playoffs to defend.

There's also plenty of teams like Florida and Columbus who draft high every season and still ****.

Tanking and drafting is no guarantee.

the first goal he was caught up high, and had no chance.

he misplayed the 2nd goal, moving in the wrong direction.

he was frozen on the third goal. had he not given up that 2nd goal i'm convinced we either tie it up for a point or even get the win.

the whole team sucked hard tonight, and Lundqvist is not excused in my eyes.

You're right. He's the best goaltender in the NHL, putting up top stats while being behind a good at best, horrendous at worst, usually mediocre team. Mikey wasn't.

I said tanking was one option.

I said the main option is being smart in free agency. I said Sather has made plenty of bad offseason signings and it has kept us in that cycle I was talking about.

EDIT: And it's not really tanking, it's rebuilding (not necessarily losing on purpose) but still I said the cycle is broken through smart free agency.

Seriously, he was my favorite player last year. I am a softy for goal scorers. Even spent a big $30 on his knock-off jersey.

i cant even remember the 2nd goal, the 3rd was deflected in by his own man, for like the 70th time this season.
