I mean if he comes in and does a good job, I'll gladly eat my words, but the guy looked completely impotent as Team Canada's coach in the finals.
Please don't tell me the reason why everyone doesn't want Cameron is this...it was one game. Do we not want Jared Cowen anymore because he was on for two goals?

I just don't like the guy, if I'm going to listen to the guy every day I want someone with some sort of reputation, respect....and Euge's doesn't count.

He's about to address the media again, his meeting with BM is over.

The guy who brought us Smith, Butler, Greening, EK, Rundblad and Cowan, Da Costa....

sounds like the perfect man to captain the ship for three years.

There's definitely validity to what you're saying, but after Hartsburg, I just don't want anything to do with junior coaches. Why can't they try someone experienced for a change? The last three coaches we've had have been relatively inexperienced at the NHL level, why can't we hire the best person for the job, as opposed to someone who's buddy buddy with Melnyk (Cameron in this case), or cheap (Clouston)?

Greening was Muckler.

Ya but Melnyk wants 2-3 year commitment. BM has said in the past he likes to stick to one year deals now, probably because he's old. I think advisory role might be most likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tim Murray took over and while BM is around in that role....nothing much changes in the near future.

Yeah well, the Hartsburg thing is valid, I think it just gives people a sour taste. And hiring someone that doesn't get welcomed just seems like a problem to me. We'll be calling to have him fired by next season if he doesn't win, even if this team isn't even expected to win....that's a problem altogether.

Euge implying the guy deserves a favour in return just adds to the mess. Don't say you don't have your hands in hockey ops then hire the guy that did you a favour a couple years ago, that just makes it a lie.

Advisory role is best IMO.

BM has done well the latter half of the season, but whoever it is that builds this back up (don't be fooled, there is still a lot of work to do) needs to be able to see it through, which I don't think BM has that many years left.

Crazy, the only person he's talked about in the same light as Bryan Murray in the past couple days is Dave Cameron...FFS.

Wow surprised that he wants to stay for all this time, after he was considering retiring last season.
