Doesn't mean anything. Rankings are taken too seriously. The only rankings that matter are the ones when the player's career is all said and done. Predraft rankings only give an idea, and even draft rankings are obviously wrong. It's such a crapshoot after the first few picks, that the 50th pick or even 90th could be better than the 24th pick. Dane Byers had the skill and projection in his draft year to live up to that rankings, he busted.

Panic post (after tonight's downer)!

At least we get a higher pick!!!!!!!!!

Armia, Zibanejad, Puempel or Khokhlachev... let's go!

Maybe we could trade up and Strome or something (I wish)

If they trade up for Strome, do they still go out and get Richards?

I think they make a go at Richards no matter what.

Is Strome even NHL ready? He certainly wouldn't be a 1st line center off the bat.

Nobody in this draft except maybe Larsson is NHL ready to an extent that would make this team.

We chose the wrong year to pick high, if we end up doing so.

I think the reason they would decide to trade up this season is because it would cost less than previous years and likely future years.

It seems to be so hit or miss after the top 5 that unless they can get a fair trade for a lottery, they should just stick to whatever position they get.

If we do end up in the top 10 somehow, a Hamilton or Murphy seems to be just what the doctor ordered.

If not them, then one of Huberdeau, Strome might fall, and if not there are plenty of second tier guys like Saad, Armia, Grimaldi to look at.

btw, if the Rangers draft another Defenseman in the first few rounds, I think I will kill someone.

Forwards straight through.

I'd absolutely love to draft both Armia and Puempel.

The only way i'll POSSIBLY feel good about missing the POs is if we draft the new Jeff Skinner in the first round and sign Brad Richards.

Doubt we'll end up drafting someone like that though.

I've been very impressed with Scooter Vaughn in the UMich games I've watched. Any chance we can entice him with a FA contract? I think he's too old for the entry draft.

Bring him to the Whale with Hagelin

He plays with a lot of heart. I'd be fully behind an ATO at least.

Exactly what I've noted, his #s aren't very sexy but the way he plays every time I've seen would fit in quite well on this squad.

Can someone tell me about this Mark McNeil guy? What kind of a player is he projected to be?

I see in his limited video highlights that he's A) Already Huge B)Fights C) Is from Western Canada D) Played pretty well in his team's playoff series.

As much as we want Ziba or Armia; this kid SCREAMS of a Gordie pick.

His name is Scooter, that's a good enough reason on it's own to sign him.

Who goes by the name Scooter? Is he a 68-year-old from Brooklyn reminiscing about the Dodgers?

Imagine if the Rangers draft Hamilton and sign this guy;

"So yeah guys Rangers had a good summer; they got Brad (Richards), Dougie, and Scooter"

George Carlin would be rolling in his grave.

Says the guy with the Preds avatar.

...Even though that doesn't really relate. I just wanted to bring up your new avatar.

I want that to happen now, team results be damned!

I'm Penguin-ing (also known as bandwagoning) on the Preds playoff run.
