I've asked this 4,5 times on HFBoards when people have suggest going to 3 on 3. Interestingly enough, I've yet to have a reply.
I believe it goes to 4 on 3 and when the guy comes out it becomes 4 on 4. Reverts back to 3 on 3 at the next whistle. I think this is what happens currently in OT when a team takes two penalties. Becomes 5 on 3 rather than 4 on 2. You can't have any less than 3 skaters on the ice at any time.

Normally you can't..... but if you're suggesting that they are going to adjust the rules so teams play 3 on 3 seems like they can adjust the minimum limit if they want to.
Seems like what you've describes makes the most sense though..... still not a big fan of 3 on 3 though.

What happens if a team gets a penalty while playing 3 on 3? Do they go down to 2? All penalties become penalty shoots?
Actually, it's really simple. Other team just gets a 4 v 3 powerplay. Just like in OT now 4 v 4 if your team take two penalties other team has a 5 on 3. However, 3 v 3 is a silly idea imo.

You can probably count 10 or 11 games where the boys took the night off this season. Doesn't look like it was such a great idea now, does it? Torts should pull the vid from each of the games they decided not to show up and make them sit in the locker room after they are eliminated and make them watch them ALL in their entirety just to torture them.
