True, if we do lose tomorrow it needs to be in OT/SO and we are guaranteed at least 5th.

I think you're forgetting about LA. If we come away with only 1 point against the Blues and the Kings beat the Ducks, LA takes 4th because of wins (47 vs 44). Am I right?

The number of possible scenarios makes my brain hurt.

Nope, it's non shootout wins.

Well, I made a promise a while back that if the Preds get home ice in round one, I'd sport a mohawk for the entirety of their playoff run. I'm fully prepared, make it happen Preds!

Here's how I see it:

Nashville loses they have a 46% chance at Detroit, and a 35% chance at San Jose

Loser point and it's a 59% chance of hosting a playoff series and 100% chance at the 4/5 round

Win, the team has a 96% chance at the #4 seed.

unlike LA, I like the odds and I like hearing them. Question is this. Will Trotz rest his players and will St. Louis roll over? I say NO to both.

What a win by Phoenix last night, good for them. I love seeing two small market, southern teams in the playoffs above big market and Canadian teams

I think it'd be cool to play them in the first round. All the big-headed elitists won't know what to do with themselves lol

I would be careful what you wish for in Phoenix...

to me it doesn't matter who we play or where we play them. All 8 teams have an arguement for them to win the west, and an arguement to go out in the first round.

put a gun to my head I say phoenix is a carbon copy of us. no elite talent, just a ton of guys who work their ass off and superior goaltending. LA is still big strong and fast and gives us fits. Detroit may have a mental edge on us now, and if they play, datsyuk and zetterburg have had a good amount of time to rest and heal. and they are still the most expereinced team in the west. we will see.

I want Detroit. I want a game 6 series win where Nashville dumps a Lake Erie Monster on the ice of the Joe leaving the fans of Detroit slack jawed in disappointment.

I want PHX or LA. As crappy as Detroit is playing right now I know the leaders on that team will step it up come playoff time. There is no easy match up but I want PHX or LA with Home ice. Mentally, I think the boys would be more confident against those teams with home ice. You go to the Joe and lose game 1 and 2 and all of a sudden you naturally get down a bit.

Who do we root for? Draft edition.

Ok, there two sides to the coin when it comes to the playoffs. The teams who made it and the teams who didn't. The ones who don't root for the teams below them to win to maximize their picks and so on.

Currently:

Florida is locked at the 28th spot. Win or lose they can not be any higher or lower. Reason for the concern? The conditional picks for A. Sulzer (7th) and M. Santorelli (5th)

NJ was looking great and a certain lock for the first pick in the 2nd round for the Preds. Then yoda came down and coached the team, again. (Can we just ban this guy from the bench? Tell him 'It's either the office or the bench, you're choice.) So what does this mean for the Nashville Predators. NJ has 2 games in hand and slide up from the 25th spot to the 24th spot. You want Atlanta to win and NJ to lose to keep the pick as high as it can. (Currently it would be 36th). Atlanta is only one pt ahead of NJ.

Ironically I'm coming back to Nashville from the 19th to 23rd and the way the schedule will probably work, home ice will actually prevent me from going to a game. But.....I'll take it. I'm a team player.

If I had to pick I'd want to play Phoenix. Aside from the fact that the NHL would probably forget to televise our games, we always seem to have trouble with LA and Detroit...I mean come on how many times do we have to get burned by them before we stop wanting to play them?
