This is why I can't stand Torts, Gilroy over Eminger and Avery is always good in games vs the Devils (as he can really drive Kovy) crazy. Gilroy is going to make better outlet passes? Are you kidding me, prove me wrong Gilroy, I'd love it! Both are terrible personnel decisions once again by Torts, does he even know what team we are playing? The Devils clog the neutral zone and play the trap, Gilroy will not be able to spring anyone with outlet passes, we lose a physical d-man who actually goes after players in the crease, and we lose an agitator who drives Brodeur and Kovy crazy, Avery alone can take the devils out of a game if he gets minutes and plays like he is capable of. I know you want Zuccs in for the shootout, but I can't agree with either of these moves.

Let's hope he did some work on the PP yesterday, hahah.

Maybe they will just use him for faceoffs in the defensive zone and on the PK, but i agree I doubt he is close to being ready. I don't like Drury at all, but with his track record of getting hurt this season lets hope he is ready and doesn't get killed out there.

Calling it. This season ends in disappoint after Torts puts out Drury for 3 minutes in the OT and makes him go in the shootout.

I'm guessing we'll see lines of...

Wolski - Stepan - Zuccarello
Dubinsky - Anisimov - Drury
Prospal - Christensen - Gaborik
Fedotenko - Boyle - Prust

Two lines that definitely work. Dubinsky and Anisimov work, they can just ignore Drury or just have him be a third dman on every shift. And maybe lightning will strike between EC and Gaborik...

Doubt it though lol

I'd like to take a guess on the lines today, but it could change every other shift as Torts tries everything he can to get some offense. Please please please just don't let the Devils of all teams knock us out of the playoffs... the only plus side is that I no longer live in Jersey and nobody here in CT really cares about hockey.

Although it could be a long day of drinking for me....

Amazing that none of these teams are showing up against Carolina.

As if they're some kind of dominant team.

I know they have played well and they got Ward but they haven't been in the top 8 all year. And now no one can beat them.

Normally I don't gripe too much about Torts but in this situation I can't believe Avery isn't in. I really can't.

Even if he just sends him out to start somer crap and get the crowd into it.

I don't get it. I just don't.

I am really hoping Tampa Bay decides to take care of business vs the Canes, as the Canes are a hot team that I would rather not have to deal with in the playoffs, especially if I am Tampa. From a Tampa standpoint, imagine they fail to knock the Canes out and somehow meet up in the Conference finals having to deal with a very hot Ward in net and the knowledge they could have ended their season. The Canes have won a cup with Ward, the Ranger's haven't gotten past the 2nd round since the late 90's. Tampa has owned the Rangers this season and would probably have no fear of dealing with them should they meet further down the road. If I am Tampa I want to beat the rival Canes and stop them from making the playoffs. Lets hope they have the same mindset, cause we know the devils want nothing but to stop us from making the playoffs, I can only hope Tampa feels the same way about the Canes.

Yeah when Torts was with TSN after the sloppy seconds debacle and before he was hired as NYR coach.

I couldn't sleep, and I had hockey last. Kept on waking up every hour, 7am, 8, 9:30 and so on til I just woke up at 11.
I never remember my dreams but I had multiple dreams last night, never seeing the game but always checking the score on my Blackberry and seeing ridiculous numbers like 9-8 in the 2nd period..but I don't know who was winning.
Either way, LETS GO RANGERS, and in just as big a way LETS GO LIGHTNING
