Agreed, I think Tampa will play hard as they can eliminate a rival and who wants to face the Canes with Ward who has been so hot later on in the playoffs? not me, losing tonight to the Canes could haunt Tampa later on if they both go deep. Play to win, always against rivals.

I love the energy so far, I hope they can keep it up. I believe they can!

Tampa really needs to take it to Carolina hard tonight, although I honestly don't believe they will. Carolina needs the game way more, why risk injury?

We have to do this in the best interest of our team.”

The Lightning have earned the right, securing their playoff spot over a week to go, to rest players, and to be honest, it is exactly what they need to do. With the luck this team has had in terms of injuries this year, there really is no reason to put any of its stars in jeopardy.
If I were Tampa.......tonight's lineup would be filled with AHLers. No reason for them to take any injury risks with the playoffs starting on Wednesday. They did earn it.........just like the Rangers COULD have against Atlanta but decided to not show up.

I sort of agree but I love seeing Zucca play and would like him to get a little bit more time

The reality is is that no respectable athlete wants to lose. So I think Tampa will come out to win if they don't feel that way then they have no heart and shouldn't be playing any sport.

I have absolutely no problem being interested in single players. What i have a problem with is "fans" who don't care about the team as a whole and only care about an individual. Today is a huge game, Zucc has done NOTHING to earn extra ice time. They are winning. Why play zucc more?

exactly. Even if these guys dress I dont expect to see em get much icetime. Our hopes rest with Tampa's 3rd and 4th liners tonight, excuse me if I'm not very confident in that.

Well, you're not Guy Boucher, so I could care less.

Just kidding, I wouldn't blame Boucher if he didn't want to risk injury.

I agree.

If the Rangers had already clinched a playoff spot and they had a chance to eliminate any of our division rivals from playoff contention in the final game of the season, I would hope that they come out and play hard. It would be pretty pathetic if Tampa mailed it in tonight.

Why not play him more? I have not said anything about playing him more or less, but I find it interesting that you sir take it upon yourself telling people what they can and can not say. I dont see how discussing MZA's icetime is any worse than talking about if Dru, Girardi or any other guy should be getting more minutes or not.

I'm not talking about that. You are taking what I am trying to say out of context. I have recognized, throughout this season, that people are more concerned with Zucc than the actual success of this team.

I have been a fan for my entire life, players come and go, but the team always remains. Everyone has their favorite players, but to put them above the team is asinine.

Zucc has not done anything recently to warrant any sort of extra playing time. He is strictly here due to the shootout. I am actually a big Zucc fan and think he will be a force in the NHL eventually. But right now, he's not developed enough to be playing important minutes, in the biggest game of the season.
