G: Little Baby Gerbe. Made a believer out of me. The backhand goal was a little lucky, but his effort and chippiness are fun to watch. Atmosphere in the building was electric. Miller was really working the crowd after handing over his jersey.

B: Enroth probably should have gotten that shorty. Pass was taken away, shot didn't seem to be that great. Two bad plays on the wall (Myers and Monty) lead to those goals too.

U: Carcillo. Not even for what he did to Gerbe. He's just ugly.

I dunno, you'd think the "biggest Sabres fan" would be aware of the fact that it was the same number of a guy who was one of the best players in franchise history and recently passed away.

(of course she's probably a 05-06er who has no sense of team history anyway)

It was almost an identical shot to the one he scored in his 2 goals in 5 seconds....minus the spin-a-rama...

off-balance backhand from just inside the dot...maybe he practices that shot alot ;-)

Agree. It's a mountain out of a molehill.

Why would wearing a jersey, something that is supposed to denote dedication and fandom and love of a player, be considered an insult. Martin was by all accounts a great guy who loved this kind of stuff.

It happened, it was a cool moment, end of story.

They really need Hecht back and Boyes needs to get back on wing. He is just not comfortable at all in the middle and it is showing badly.

there were so many amazing things that happened last night. the autograph signings and other festivities outside the arena, the pregame ceremony with all the alumni, the game itself was a blast to watch, and then the final result...and to get all pissed off over something like this...just ridiculous. like rick is up there behind the pearly gates, shaking his fist because a fan was awarded a jersey with his number on it, but not his name

Really annoyed me.
The woman who won it is a fairly annoying man hater, but come on. The #7 sweater was given to her by the team. What is she going to do, refuse to wear it when she's there being honored? Please.

She's also been a STH since 05-06, but has been attending games since the 90s. I dislike her personally, having met her a few times and know some people she associates with, but hating on her for this is stupid.

Quick fun fact: Out of the 30 teams in the NHL, we have the 2nd best record in our last 10 games. (7-1-2)

Best? Nashville.

The ********* awesome:
"Here we go, Sabres...here we go"
I've never heard that chant before...
I love the 'Lets go Buffalo' chant too, because it rhymes
But the 'Here we Go' chant is a keeper...Mix it up throughout the game in the playoffs...

For me, playing out of position doesn't justify his lackadaiscal efforts. He is coasting out there. If he doesn't step up his intensity come playoff time, he's going to be riding the pine.

They don't have anyone else to plug in in the middle right now and once they do, Boyes goes back to wing -- likely with the high-energy duo of Gerbe and Gaustad. They're not coasting out there and their effort has been infectious with whoever is playing RW with them, including a brief bit of Boyes in Hecht's single period return.

I don't think Boyes has been that bad. He's not scoring like he was, so of course people are all over him.

Factor in the 20-30 goals where Vanek has his butt in the goaltender's face and doesn't get a point for it and you have close to a 100 pt player. the Crosbys and Ovechkins may put up 20-40 more points every year, but they're not contributing to those types of goals either.

Re-watch last night's game and focus in on him. If you tell me you were impressed, I will become a Flyers fan.

I didn't say he was great. He's certainly not loafing around out there. He's putting the work in at an off position. Can't ask for more than that.
