But anyways, congrats on the playoff spot. It would have sucked real bad to miss out on the last day (especially two years in a row). Give Ovenchicken and the Caps hell, please?

I usually don't do this but I will make an exception here. Congrats on making the playoffs in front of us. I'll be rooting for you against Washington.

I shot some footage today to do a slow motion test, was wearing my Rangers shirt, so I guess you could say I'm jumping for joy now that we're in the playoffs.

Man if we had cally here we would have a great chance of going far this year. If Drury can go back to his old self then we might will .

You and me both, my friend.

Well, actually I live in Nashville and went to all three home playoff games last year. I might miss a couple since I'll actually be in NY, but I can't wait to get down to Bridgestone Arena!!!!

Speaking of which. I need the damn schedule for this series!!! So pumped.

I will say it -

Drury is the x-factor in this series.

- Chris Drury just spoke with media, says "significant portion" of team watched Carolina game together tonight "we're excited for opportunity"

- Drury says sitting next to Henrik Lundqvist watching TB-Car was an experience he doesn't want to repeat. Lundqvist was "pretty intense."

Torts was saying how he watched the game with his son at the practice facility I believe.
Said he was really excited and owes it all to the players for their hard work and just persevering. Said he loved this teams coalescence since day 1 out of camp

Living in caps country I would REALLY love for the Rangers to be able to take this series so that I don't have to deal with all the bandwagon fans.

Damn, wish we had cally for it though. I'd feel sooo much more confident going in.

if the Caps get even decent goaltending, i think they take this in 5 or 6. if their goaltending stinks, we win it in 6 or 7. We just dont have the talent to match up against them...unless staal plays 40 mins a night to shut down their forwards :-/

imho this is pretty much the worst draw we could have had.....well, that or the Habs...any other team i think we can beat...i just dont like the way our young D matches up against that powerhouse lineup...plus theyve learned to play defense now too.

LOL at the main boards... "Rangers will miss Gomez, he was their best forward against the Caps in 2009." It isn't 2009 anymore! This team has changed a lot since that playoff matchup.

I'm eager to see how Gabby and the kids perform in the playoffs. Staal and Girardi were a mess against the Caps in '09 but they played well against Ovechkin this year. They haven't been playing great lately but I think they will be super-motivated against Ovechkin.

Fedotenko scored some big goals under Torts with Tampa, maybe he can recreate some of that playoff magic. Drury looked like his old self today and I'm hoping he can come up with another clutch performance.

All in all, I'm just thrilled the Rangers are in playoffs. The rollercoaster of emotions for Rangers fans this week would put Charlie Sheen to shame.

Important question: do I shave my beard and start a playoff beard fresh or do I just let my beard run wild?

Me too, man. I moved back to the DC area just in time, it seems.

I think you are completely wrong. Our style of play dominates trapping teams like the Caps. The dump and chase will work to perfection in this series.

We have trouble with teams that put pressure on us in our own end. The caps are good, but I think our D will contain their stars.

I can't believe we made it.

If Gaborik shows up I think we have a chance.

Henrik will play god we know that, but will it be enough.

I think Washington takes the series, I don't have confidence in our offense.

NY has been so good on the road this year so I think they can split the games at wash, but at the garden I am not convinced NY can win enough games to matter.

I think the key player for washington is Scott Hannan. He is going to play a ton of hockey for the caps against NY

for NY I think the key pairing of Sauer and McDonaugh as they will have to step up and play mistake free hockey
