Every team as of late that has won the cup has had contributions from young rookies. I have had dreams of Hodgson scoring clutch goals for us to clinch series. I knew he would be called up.
It's the playoffs and they have a great goalie...don't count them out.
Noel doesn't know how to put his lines together or a decent PP. they are likely 1st round fodder. If Noel actually knew how to manage his forwards I might give them more of a chance. Lack might steal the moose a game or two but he can only do so much.
Hodgson has been a below-average AHL player for the past few months and has absolutely zero business suiting up for a first-place team in the NHL playoffs.
If the Moose were eliminated, sure, bring a couple guys up to give them a taste of the playoff atmosphere. But he doesn't belong anywhere near here right now, and should be trying to help the team he's been playing for all season.
They clearly don't want him to get injured so they're going to keep him in reserve in Vancouver. And they don't give a damn about how the Moose do because they think that they're going to need a new affiliate next season anyhow. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tanev recalled as well.

Bizarre move if true.
You don't think that the coaching staff and management might know better than you... ?

didn't he win the big prize with Milwaukee?
did he leave the forward combinations all for his assistant coaches to handle
Nope. He got a cup ring from the Ducks, but he didn't get his name on the cup.
Cup rings are up to the team. Names on the cup are up to the NHL. Rome didn't meet the requirements for getting his name engraved.
To earn a spot on the Cup, you have to play in 50% of your team's regular season games or dress for 1 game in the finals.
Thus, Malhottra would get his name on the Cup should Vancouver win it.
Salo needs to dress in the finals to get his name on the Cup. All other regular players on the roster played the required 50% of the season. Alberts just made it with 42 games.
I recall Ed Olcyk of the Rangers was not supposed to get his name on the Cup. He played 37 games for the Rags and 1 playoff game. I think the Rangers made a petition to get his name on the Cup.
Not sure why the NHL allowed it. Guess they saw that he was injury plagued for the season as he was on their opening day roster.
Hodgson will break out Giroux-style. You heard it hear first. But seriously, he'd played fine when he was up earlier. The 4th line looked dangerous. He should be able to chip in a few goals if the Canucks go far.
The team should be able to choose who's name goes on the Cup as well, within reason. What if Sami Salo is our best defenceman through the first few rounds but gets injured in Game 7 of the WCF? He wouldn't get his name on the Cup despite being our best defenceman. That doesn't make any sense.
Yes. I would think he would already qualify as he's been dressed for all 82 games this season. Look at all of Brodeur's backups. They have their names on the Cup.
CS would be dressed for every game. Yes he would get his name on the Cup. You have to appear on the roster. If there is room left on the Cup the organization can apply for other names to be put on I believe.
Rome is not on the Cup, he has a ring, he played the Wild not Detroit.
The ring and day with the Cup are up to the organization.
Didn't Detroit put a dogs name on the cup? And that's when they changed some of the rules...?
I remember reading a post by NFITO last year regarding Raymond and how he could be groomed into a really good third line center if his scoring ever dried up. Seems that NFITO was on to something.
