Build Kopitar a robot leg and sign Wayne Gretzky.

Crash the net, force Luongo out of his comfort zone, force Vancouver D to play physical, they are hurt back there.

Be defensively responsible, don't allow Vancouver to get any 2nd/3rd opportunities, stay out of the box, and be defensively stout.

Oh wait...you guys don't like that...ok...wait..

Ummm....have the players be offensively creative, criss cross at the blueline, have one of them do a pirouette to distract the defense, and if that fails, there's always the flying V.

I'd say there's a few mainly:

1) Be physical on Sedins
2) get your matchups right
3) take advantage over Torres suspension and Mannys injury
4) take very few penalties
5) drive them to the outside
6) try to keep it a defensive and low scoring game

I think we've got 5 and 6 down pretty well. Especially without Kopitar (and who knows how much of an impact Williams will have coming off an injury), our defensive play is going to have to be perfect just to take a game or two. Unfortunately, #2 is going to be what does us in. I can just see TM now, he'll probably match up the Sedin line with the Poni/Lewis/Westgarth line.

With the way our offense has been going we can't allow more than 1 or 2 goals. Play a tight defensive game.

Oh that and block all Vancouver area IP addresses to prevent a HFboard war

The best way to shut down the sedins Is to cut their down low passes off. Playing them physical is a recipe for disaster . They are at their best when teams d force and pressure too much. Calgary tries to play them physical all the time And they eat them alive.

Quick pulls a Patrick Roy.

That's really the only way.

Common guys, lighten up. We've faced this team before and if it weren't for a few 3rd period breakdowns we would've had that series. We're a more experienced bunch now, and in the playoffs, anything can happen. I'd rather face the Canucks than Sharks or Blackhawks. Have faith!

In other news, we have no chance.

Canuck Fan coming in peace

Hey guys Im a Canuck fan coming in peace. First of all its not confirmed yet, but I would love to play LA in the playoffs, and no not because I think it would be easier cause than I would rather play the Stars. I think it would be a good series, just like last year. You guys had us worried up until late in game 4, with your crazy powerplay. Id like to think Vancity would most likely win but it would not be a cake walk by any chance. See u in the playoffs

PS: staples center is one of the best stadiums ive ever been too, good fans too.

That's because half the arena is filled with Nucks fans.

1) Good goaltending
2) Stick to our suffocating defensive scheme
3) Dont take penalties
4) Improve our power play
5) Burry the few chances we will get

All of those things probably would need to happen for us to win.

Kings would need a lot of fluke and fortunate goals, and Quick would have to turn into a Conn Smythe goaltender.

I think that every game is gonna be a battle due to the physical/defensive game that the Kings will be forced to play, but there's no way we will put up as good of a fight as we did last year. Our PK is great, but our PP has been nowhere near where it was in last years playoffs. And especially without Kopitar, we have no real hope of kickstarting the PP, unless JJ/DD find a time machine and travel back a year, Smyth actually gets a PP goal, or if Stoll actually hits the net when shooting from the point.

Might as well look at this as a glass half full situation..... at least our guys will get some more playoff experience and will be more prepared for next year's playoff run.

And thank you for the compliments. Most of the Canuck fans I met at Staples in last years playoffs were really cool too (except for one group, but I'll assume that was more of an exception to the rule).
