Tampa has won 6 of their last 7 hockey games. They beat Chicago in Chicago on the second half of a back to back when they didn't need the points and Chicago did. Carolina might still win anyway, but Tampa ain't gonna lay down like Atlanta did. Believe that.
So a pleasant **** you to all the Debbies and Piles fans who constantly trolled our posts on the main boards and decided to drop in over here as well, saying how we wouldn't make the playoffs just like their teams.
Also, Calgary got the OTL today ending with 94 points
that means one better draft position for us. drafting 13th instead of 14th i think. too lazy to count regulation vs SO wins.

Don't the non-playoff teams draft FIRST, then the teams that make the playoffs go in order of lowest points.
So, say the Rangers do lose to the Caps in round 1, they will get the 15th pick: the 14 teams that did not make it will draft before them and they have the lowest point total of any team that did make it, so it'll be the 15th overall pick at this point. Not sure how it works for the 2nd round, but I know if you make the Conference Finals, you draft in the last 4 picks no matter of season point total.
That Clifford vs. Brookbank fight was incredible. I'm such a huge fan of Clifford, I praised LA when they drafted him. What a smart pick. He got his **** rocked there.
Some props to Brookbank there. He stunned Clifford and opened him up good. But as soon as he saw the guy was hurt he stopped throwing punches. Classy move, even though Cliff kept going of course that was a little save face. Big win for Brookbank.

That is how it works. The playoff teams get the last 16 picks of the first round. Conference finalists get the last four picks, with Cup finalists getting the last two and the champ getting pick 30. Making it to the second round does not affect your pick.
"I'm happy for Torts. He's done a lot for my career," Lightning forward Martin St. Louis said. "If we could have helped him, great. We played the game, though. It's not like we were working extra hard for Torts."
