I think we can win this series. Look what the Cryers did last year, went to the POŽs with the last game and after it went straight to the finals. All is possible now and with a great teamwork and grinding it out on every 60 minutes.

Our Blueshirts looked damn good against the Caps this year and my opinion is a 4-2 Series in our favor.

I feel confident going in. Not overly confident - as nobody should - but confident nonetheless. We still have players with bruised egos over what Ovechkin and Co. did to us in the last playoffs and I know they are dying to return the favor.

So, who's up for some Ovenchicken?

I am going to make a prediction...not on who will win the series in how many games, I don't get involved in those talks or who will win a game and what the score will be, thats just not me...

BUT...I made a prediction, more of a certainty, after the loss to the thrashers that drury would be in the lineup saturday and calm this young nervous team down...and it happened with a HUGE goal set up by zuccs....

now my prediction:
Drury and Zuccs will be a great duo in the playoffs, zuccs can make incredible passes, while drury seems like he is relaxed and full of intensity and well rested after not really playing this season, which could lead to some HUGE goals.

The Rangers FINALLY got some help after screwing themselves on Thursday and for most the last 3 weeks with a series of bad losses.

Staal-Girardi have played great hockey against Ovechkin this season. The Rangers top D pairing need to be more consistent. They can't look like Larry Robinson and Rod Langway against Boston and then look like Peter Popovic and Dave Karpa against Atlanta.

The east has no easy first round series. The lower seeds can win their series without it being a huge upset.

Boyle-Prust-Fedotenko and AA-Dubinsky-(?) and Staal/Girardi and McD/Sauer(if they can't get Staal on the ice)will be matched up against Ovechkin's line.

Getting the young players playoff experience will be huge for their maturation as NHL players.

Who will the Caps play in net? Neuvirth to start. Holtby and/or Varlamov if Neuvirth stumbles.

Rangers in 6

They should be riding Holtby, but thankfully for the Rangers they probably won't until the other two end up flopping.

Dubi - AA - Gabby
Prospal - Stepan - Wolski
Feds - Boyle - Prust
Avery - Drury - MZA

Extras: Christ, (Newbury = injury callup)
Injured: Callahan, The Boogeyman, Frolov
Demoted: White

Is what I would use to start the series up front...

But weŽll probably see:

Prospal - Stepan -Gabby
Dubi - AA - Wolksi
Feds - Boyle - Prust
Avery - Christ -Drury

Demoted - MZA
Callup: Newbury

Would be interesting what Grachev could bring against the Capitals game on a lower line for a game or two... But not happening

D & Goalies are set:

The King

Staal - Girardi
McD - Sauer
McCabe - Eminger/Gilroy

If The Whale is harpooned (I mean eliminated ) could and would Redden be called up? This is a serious QUESTION BTW?

How is it possible?

I went to game 5 (the water bottle incident) and I won't be going to a game there this postseason. In fact I only went to 1 of the regular season games this season because I got tickets for my birthday. I would rather watch the game from the comfort of my home than deal with some of the obnoxious bandwagon fans there. Oh yeah, and what that joke of an organization considers security.

I think Christensen will sit in favor of Aves eventually, unless he elevates his battle level significantly.

Offensively, yes they were ok. I don't like this line-up against the Caps though. We need a bonafide shutdown line who'll be paired up against AO. Swap Wolski/Feds, imo.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but for those curious about the schedule, it'll be released at 10 tonight during a show on the NHL Network. Bank on the series starting Wednesday since both the Bruins and Flyers arenas are in use Wednesday night, figure they want 2 eastern series to start the first night.
