Dammit. Again Hagelin lost in the Finals. Too bad. I was pretty sure he'll win, much more so than the odds of the Rangers making the playoffs.

Ah well, Hagelin had a great career. Can't wait to see him go pro.

I'm thinking no, because he'll want to stay on campus and finish school out the right way. If I recall correctly, he's interning with the athletic department so it may be tough to earn credit for that while gone.

Hmm makes sense. I know guys in the past have done it though, leaving college and heading to the AHL and still getting their credits. I can understand him not though.

Don't have the highlights but...

Thomas' assist came from the point on the PP, made a strong play to keep the puck in and the play alive.

1st goal was a one-timer from the left boards off a cross-ice feed.

3rd goal - He came down on a one-on-one and used the dman as a screen scored far side.

Every goal he scores is a goal scorers goal. Hard to not be excited for Thomas.

Christian Thomas's shot on the power play is Stamkos-esque.

I agree the Thomas one timer is just to die for. His second goal was also pretty sweet. I'd love to see what he does next year by means of production.

His backchecking didn't look so hot on that fourth Niagara goal (the one that counted), but he wasn't the main defender on the goal-scorer so it's hard to tell how much he is to blame. It's hard to tell how close he was to the guy on the video. Overall, it's still a fantastic night for Thomas.

Can he potentially quarterback a powerplay?

That last goal was smooth. He slipped by the Dman in the neutral zone. I can't wait to see what he can do in the Pros.

I'd rather him play point or play the off wing. He should be ripping one timers instead of making passes.

Awesome! Thanks...

-Nice pass to set up Oshawa's first goal
-Can't believe he got that shot off on his first goal, looked like the puck was bouncing to him
-Nice move in the defensive zone to break up the ice for his 2nd goal...

Looked like Oshawa's arena was rocking.... I like the enthusiasm of their announcer....

I typed Christian Thomas one-timer into google.

I got "Did you mean: Steven Stamkos one-timer?"

He just has a FILTHY one timer.

Don't know where this belongs. This thread or the Whale thread. Adam Graves attended the Whale game last night and he spoke about some of the Rangers prospects including McIlrath. Graves went to Moose Jaw a couple of times this season to watch McIlrath. He also discussed Kreider,Thomas and Stajcer. The Rangers signing Stajcer after signing Missiaen? Lundqvist. Biron. Talbot is signed. Missiaen. Johnson is a group II. Stajcer. That would make 6 goalies.

Audio at the bottom

Also a McIlrath and Yogan interview.

Yeah he definitely needs work in the defensive zone but it looks like he just needs someone to make him work harder and not spend as much time watching the puck on defense.

McIlrath turns 19 in 10 days. Does that mean he can play with the Whale next season? He already has a contract...
I imagine Bourque will as he's already 20.

Nope. He has to be 20 to play in the AHL.

Yeah, I can't see Bourque doing an overage year, so he'll probably end up in the AHL.

It must be the Rangers' plan to send him in the A next season. They didn't have to sign him this season because the 2 years CHL rule doesn't apply to him as he was drafted out of the USNTDP.

That was a good game. I dont really watch junior hockey unless its WJC but it was on telly so decided to catch another glimpse of Hagelin. Shame they lost.

The CBA prohibits players with junior eligibility from playing in the AHL until their team has finished playing. McIlrath will play for the Rangers or return to Moose Jaw.
