FORWARDS:

* Anisimov, Artem B- Still too inconsistent and in my mind undeserving of the raves he sometimes gets
* Avery, Sean C- I still think he could have been better if the coach used him more wisely and maybe beat some sense into him
* Boyle, Brian A There was no reason to think he would ever had a season like this one
* Callahan, Ryan A- All effort, a little more scoring would be nice
* Christensen, Erik D Does anyone have Sigmund Freud's phone number?
* Dubinsky, Brandon B+ Similar to Callahan
* Fedentenko, Ruslan B Seems to miss open nets more than he should. But done most of what could be expected
* Gaborik, Marian C Is he hurt? Crybaby? Slacker?
* Prospal, Vinny B+ Would be higher if he was healthy and able to keep his level of play up for full season
* Prust, Brandon A- Gets the A- only because he sometimes fights and loses when we have the momentum
* Stepan, Derek B+ Good start, see what happens
* Wolski, Wojtek C Should be better with his talent. Lend him Freud when he's through with Christensen
* Zuccarello, Mats C Still don't get why you guys love him
* Drury, Chris F I don't care if he scored yesterday. I want him off my team

DEFENSEMEN:

* Eminger, Steve B A very pleasant surprise. Why is he benched for Gilroy?
* Gilroy, Matt F If you don't know why then you should leave here and never come back
* Girardi, Dan B+ Sometimes out of position and always slow. But way more positives than negatives.
* McCabe, Bryan INC I still don't know if he makes the power play better, even though it has been better since he came
* McDonagh, Ryan B+ Great for a rookie but he's still beaten. Some have blinders on for him
* Sauer, Mike A- Good in every area
* Staal,Mark B+ Similar to Girardi & McDonagh. People seem to see only the good. He's slow and gets beaten more than people like to admit. If he and Girardi are as good as some of you think, why did the Rangers barely make the playoffs?

GOALTENDERS:

* Lundqvist, Henrik A- Most of the minus was first half of season.
* Biron, Martin B+ Did very well in limited action but bad break (!) hurt the team. Obviously not his fault

yeah it is Staal and Girardi's fault our forwards can't score.
this has to be the funniest thing I have ever heard. let's blame Staal and Girardi wow.

i would give boyle an a but offensively i feel like he disappeared the last 3rd of the season. he gets a b.

the guys that get an a for me are the rookie dmen, staal girardi, henrik, dubi, cally and stepan and of course prust. and even though his season was very short prospal. prospal played very hard.

my biggest dissapointment was with avery. at the most a c-, probably a d. who knows, under a different coach he might have gotten a b. and when it seemed like everyone was hurt i felt like he tried to become a leader on the team and tried contributing more than anything else, which is not his forte.

They are not apart of the offense. While it is nice when they pitch in, they are not at fault for the Rangers doing things like scoring four goals in four games. But they were a huge part in the Rangers GAA for the year.

Artem Anisimov - B: Improved on his rookie year. Good two way forward with skill.
Sean Avery - C-/D+: He had a good run as a Ranger, but it's time for him to go.
Brian Boyle - A-: Obviously an unexpected source of offense. Played in all situations.
Ryan Callahan - A: Would have loved to seen his numbers had he played a full season.
Erik Christensen - C: His inconsistency is no secret. Thank God for his SO skills.
Brandon Dubinsky - A-: Stepped up his production this year. No complaints.
Ruslan Fedotenko - B+: Excellent, veteran presence. Even chipped in some offense.
Marian Gaborik - B-/C+: Disappointing season. Of course more was expected, but he was still
an offensive threat. I wonder if injuries played a bigger role than we
think.
Vinny Prospal - B: I give him a lot of credit for playing this year. Produced at a good clip.
Brandon Prust - A: Played a huge role in the Rangers success this season. The SHG were nice.
Derek Stepan - A-: Great rookie season. Needs to get stronger, work on consistency and FO's.
Wojtek Wolski - B-: Needs to get more out of his ability. He wasn't a liability, though.
Mats Zuccarello - B: Love his offensive creativity. Adjusted well to North America.
Chris Drury - INC: I feel it would be unfair to give him a grade.

Steve Eminger - B: Wasn't expecting much, but he was steady on the blueline.
Matt Gilroy - C-/D+: He's not a good player. I don't get the hatred for him, though.
Dan Girardi - B+: Fantastic 1st half. Overall, it was a great season for him.
Bryan McCabe - INC: Considering what the Rangers gave up for him, I think he was a
welcome addition.
Michael Sauer - A-: Can't say enough good things about him.
Ryan McDonagh - A-: Can't say enough good things about him.
Marc Staal - A-/B+: Still the Rangers top D-man.

Henrik Lundqvist - A-: Perhaps the best season of his career.
Martin Biron - A-: Did exactly what he was brought into to do.

Why do people score Boogaard as an F?

Most fighters wouldn't fight him. I thought he did a fine job of throwing the body around, even cycled well on occasion. He played 22 games and was injured. Picked up a goal and an assist, and finished even.

Two awesomely memorable plays - goal against DC and the "stare down".

I don't know what people were expecting but certainly not an F for the year.

I'd think the "F" has more to do with the signing.

Do you think we finish any better if he hadn't been injured?

you know, I don't think so. This was his first season... new guys, new coach, new system, etc... but I think that he would have settled in.

I didn't have high expectations for him in the first place. Some strong board play and forecheck, big hits, solid knockouts/TKO, and less time in the box for Prust and company. I think that would have been exactly what we got if he stayed healthy. That typw of play would not be deserve an F for him.

I dunno, maybe i just feel the need to defend him becasue of all the hate that seems to be thrown his way somewhat undeservedly.

Anisimov, Artem- B-. Started off great but regressed as season went on.

Avery, Sean-E+ - Provided little to nothing this year. Too streaky, Prust can do the job. Avery no longer needed.

Boyle, Brian-B+ One of the pleasant surprises of this years team.

Callahan, Ryan-A The definition of a Ranger! Cally is the true leader on this team.

Christensen, Erik-D Too streaky and overall a pretty weak season. If Brad Richards comes to us, Christ is the odd man out at C.

Dubinsky, Brandon-A- Taken big steps. Stepped up and took charge when the team was hit with injuries to key players. More consistent than last year.

Fedentenko, Ruslan-B- Very useful player at a cap friendly price!

Gaborik, Marian-C- Very dissapointing. I would go as far as saying that this season is unacceptable for a player of Gaboriks talent.

Prospal, Vinny-B- Has been good since he came back. Obviously a very passionate, good guy. Good example for young players.

Prust, Brandon-A+ Has done more than I ever expected and then some. This guy is a true warrior and he deserved the McDonald award!

Stepan, Derek-B+ Looks like we have found something special here. Need to pack on more muscle. I really believe in Stepan.

Wolski, Wojtek-D+ Very inconsistent, but shows flashes of why he was a first round pick. Hopefully better next year.

Zuccarello, Mats-B- Has taken way to much heat on these boards. Undersized, young guy with very little NA hockey experience. Comes in and puts up a decent point total. Im confident he will be a regular next season and put up even more points.

Drury, Chris - Not enough games to grade him. Would have said E+ before he got hurt.

Eminger, Steve-C Has been physical and worked hard. Something this team needed badly this year. Don't understand why Gilroy ever played over Eminger.

Gilroy, Matt-D- I think he has been invisible all year. I don't think he is a Ranger next season. Not at what it would cost to resign him.

Girardi, Dan-A- The shot blocking machine. So important to our D its not even funny.

McCabe, Bryan-C Not good not bad. Every defence needs a veteran presence.

McDonagh, Ryan-B+ This guy is going to be a stud. Very impressive rookie season.

Sauer, Mike-A- Didn't know anything about him and didn't expect much from him, but he exceeded my expectation by a country mile. What a pleasant surprise.

Staal,Marc-A One of the best in the league. Logs unbelievable minutes with Girardi and always makes it hard for the other teams best players. Future boss of our defence.

Lundqvist, Henrik-A He is the KING! Without him, we would be in the bottom half of the league.

Biron, Martin-A- Very nice addition. Played well when he needed to. It's not his fault, but I hate the injury because I would have liked to see him take some of the workload off of Henriks shoulders down the stretch. The King has played too much down the stretch and might be fatigued going into the playoffs, witch he admitted was a factor when we lost to the Capitals in 09.
