i hope he gets a real shot for next year. he's got some talent. hard to say exactly where he falls in terms of upside, but i think it's fair to say he's probably a 1b at best. still should be some teams out there who could use a cheap backup with upside for next year.
Ottawa in tandem with Anderson next year sounds like a good fit while Lehner develops.
New Jersey makes sense as well, as they could use an infusion of NHL-ready youth at the goaltending position.
those two make the most sense to me. other than that...might have to wait until camp next fall to really find a home.
I'm thinking he goes to either Ottawa, NYI, New Jersey or Florida. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Tampa grab him if enough teams pass on him. With Roloson being a UFA and Smith sucking he could be used there. I guess we'll know in an hour.
I am a Brynäs fan so I've seen him all season, he was on loan here for the entire season. He is so bad that there are no words. The worst goalie we have had in many years, despite there have been some really bad. He has been the laughingstock of the entire hockey Sweden. I find it hard to see him recover from such a poor season. It must have affected his psyche.
He probably will clear. The salary makes no difference since his contract is up this summer. Maybe a team could grab him, and I'd be down for the Sens to grab him, but I could just as easily see him getting though unclaimed.
