Sharks fan, here in peace.

Looking forward to the matchup with you guys. Definitely a lot more respect for you guys than I have for Anaheim or Dallas, especially. Should be a really interesting series. Obviously we differ in who we want to win, but hey.

By the way, there's also a huge advantage here for whichever team moves on: Our travel during this series is basically negligible. It's what, a 1 hour flight, and no time zone change? Meanwhile, the Ducks and Preds are having to hop back and forth between Anaheim and Tennessee, Yotes & Wings between Detroit & Phoenix, and Vancouver has to go to either Chicago or Dallas. All of them long flights with 2-3 hour time zone shifts....

Now, we just have to both hope for all those other series to go at least 6 games...

Anyway, lets get these games started, right?

Quick should do fine. He has a playoff series under his belt now and it will be easier. SJ will be favored but that takes the pressure off us. This is a team who historically chokes so I'm looking forward to this.

Sharks/Kings are too nice. I'm pretty sure we have the friendliest fanbases between the Pacific teams.

In comparison to the Kings. But then again, that's not saying much.

Good luck guys. Even though they are a division rival, I really enjoy the team that the Kings have become (and I'm not one to root for my "home" team) starting with Dustin Brown (one of my favorites).

If there is one team and fanbase I wouldn't mind the Sharks losing to...it's this one right here. Awesome players and great fans.

Good luck again.

Another Sharks fan here.

Why do kings fans sound so much more intellegent than Ducks fans? It's not like there is a huge geogaphical distance between the two teams.

When the Kings play lousy, Kings fans say "The kings played lousy"

When the Ducks play lousy, Ducks fans say "FKIN CHEATING REFS! THEY JUST DONT WANT THE DUCKS TO WIN! DUCKS 0, REFS 5 THIS IS A DISGRACE TO THE NHL!!1!!1!"

Seriously - why is there such stark a contrast?

Should be a fun series.

Took 20 years to go up against the Sharks, and this will be the first division team that the Kings have played in the playoffs since the early 90's.

Quick needs to be this year's Halak, the PP has to score, and the Kings need to play their game. They have to slow things down. They're not going to win a run and gun series.

After Kopitar couldn't get up, I lost the expectation level. So I'm just going to enjoy the series, looking forward to a real start to the rivalry, and you never know what can happen.

Nicely said, go Kings and here is to an injury free series.

Sharks fan coming in peace. The Kings are my "second" team (distant second, but whatever) and it's mainly because the fanbase is full of terrific people. Good luck in this series. You guys are awesome.

Sharks fans are a classy bunch and I don't have any hatred for their team. This should be a very civil series.

One fan base grew up listening to Bob Miller and Jim Fox calling games. The other fan base is still growing up listening to Brian Hayward.

A lot of respect going on around here...this could lead to disaster if/when this series gets hot.

That's the only reason I was pacing anxiously in front of my TV during the Wings/Hawks game this morning. One the ice, SJ or Van is pretty much a toss-up, IMO. But I wanted this fan match-up.

We've already had like five well-wishers from the Sharks board. If it'd gone the other way, this thread would be ten pages and locked by now.

Prefer this matchup, but I'm still not optomistic. Sharks in five.

If the stars align, the Kings could have:

Penner-Schenn-Williams
Smyth-Stoll-Brown
Poni-Handzus-Moller
Clifford-Richardson-Simmonds

:crosses fingers:

I was just thinking this. Sure, we all like each other now...I'm gonna feel confused by game 6 (yeah I said it)!
