Dallas out...no additional playoff revenue. Mr. Richards, there will be a DVD personally delivered to your doorstep on July 1, 12:01 AM. Oh, I'd love to see the Hawks take out the Canucks.

If he walks it would clearly have been a miscalculation on the Stars part.

I'm happy to see the Hawks in too.

Could be good for the Richards angle, but hard to say. Cannot hurt.

I like the Nucks so I'll actually be pulling for them out of the West.

I'm sure Vancouver fans are thrilled. Chicago is probably the last team they wanted to face in the 1st round.

With the Stars losing, Devils get a third round pick instead of second in the Langenbrunner trade.

Yes, I would be tickled to see Brad head to the Rangers. Quality player, like Iginla but with better playmaking skills.

Well, had Richards not played well, I suppose his thought process could've been that he had "unfinished business in Dallas." However, tonight's outcome was not due to Richards. Richards did his part, but the pieces around him just weren't enough.

Hopefully he believes that we can put those pieces around him.

If Brich doesn't sign in NY because of this i'll be disappointed. Very meh about the Hawks and would've liked Dallas in there (only if it didn't stop Brad from coming here.)

The pick could still be upgraded if Langenbrunner re-signs in Dallas.

However, if that occurs, Nieuendyk is an even bigger idiot.

To clarify on Langenbrunner, if Dallas resigns him (before July 1 I think) they get the 2nd.

The Nucks are pretty incredible but I love the thought of another Vancouver - Chicago round.

I'm hoping Bolland is able to get back, he always makes it hard for the Sedins.

That's tough luck for Vancouver, but now they just have to show the 'hawks that this year they are the dominant team.

I think Buffalo takes Philly in 5/6. Two teams that have been playing the opposite of how their standing rankins show.

I also think Boston beats Montreal in 5.

Wow, NJ screwed themselves over. Getting the 6th pick after a season like this is still something. 8th, it's probably not the same. I guess they can get a solid defenseman there, though. They badly need one.

If De Boer is smart, he'll go to NJ. That team has a much brighter future than Ottawa, although Spezza and Karlsson would be nice to have around. De Boer is a really good coach. He didn't have anything to work with in Florida. I think he'd do a lot for the Devils.

De Boer or Hitch would work for NJ, IMO.

I think DeBoer could work very well in NJ too, but there are a few things working against NJ in such a scenario. First, the Devils burn through coaches like the Rangers burn through UFAs. DeBoer has only coached one NHL team (Florida). If he faces a hickup early in the year, he very well could get booted out of NJ in short order, and that could have a major impact on his ability to ever coach in the NHL again.

Furthermore, Ottawa tried to hire DeBoar prior to him joining the Panthers. That might paint them in a brighter light than NJ.
