Any update on Brouwer?

I know he wasn't playing well, but he will at least attempt to throw his body around.

From Chris Kuc`s twitter:

Coach Joel Quenneville said winger Troy Brouwer (shoulder) will travel with #Blackhawks to Vancouver for first round of playoffs.

Any thoughts on what kind of injury he has? Dislocation or a torn tendon maybe?

I don't think they ever released anything. But it LOOKED like a dislocated shoulder.

Apparently he needs surgery on his shoulder but is going to have it in the Summer. Should be good to go for the playoffs.

Bolland (concussion) and Brouwer (shoulder) are going with the #Blackhawks to Vancouver. Team is "optimistic" they will play in series.

Looks like Brouwer required surgery for the shoulder.

The Chicago Blackhawks announced Thursday that winger Troy Brouwer underwent a surgical procedure on a right shoulder tear earlier in the week.

That's almost good news. Hopefully it heals and it gives him his shot back.

This will affect his contract negotiations.

If I were him, I'd aim for a low ball, short-term offer since shoulder surgeries usually require a full year to heal. If he underperforms next year, he'll still have time

First Hendry, then Bickell, then Campoli and now Brouwer? So many surgeries.

personally, i don't really care what happens to hendry. Like, I hope he heals and everything, but i'd prefer if he never put on a hawks jersey again.

A bit too harsh there... he was perfectly serviceable as a #6 (not that I wouldn't prefer Leddy there instead with Campoli as #5).

Hendry shouldn't be your #6 unless you have such offensively inept defenseman to need him to play the point on the PP. He's a vanilla #7 though.

Hendry for real cheap as our #7/extra forward wouldn't be terrible

Would allow us to use more $$$ to shore up our depth

I really didn't like hendry. He was below average-average in the d zone and bad-below average offensively. Given what I saw from campoli in his time as a hawk, it makes me wish we could move campbell even more. I think he could step into campbell's role pretty effectively at a fraction of the cost.

Hendry was mediocre at everything other then skating, which was solid. Just a meh player, through and through.

all I'm going to say is, that if we are dressing Hendry as a 6th d-man consistently, our prospect pool needs a lot of work. I find it hard to believe he is/was our best option.

Like I said, he shouldn't be your everyday #6. He is entirely acceptable as a #7.

not really wanting to hear anything about Hendry again.... not a terrible player, but we need to start seeing what our kids can do if we cant pick up a 6-7 ufa dman...

we need to see what Lalonde, Connelly, Lavin, Olsen, etc can do if we dont sign a UFA.....no more Hendry imo.

I agree with no more Hendry. We need a big physical presence in his place, we don't need anymore soft Dmen.

This. You get Hendry for 500K, sign Rupp for 4th line (who can move to C if injuries, as can Sharp), then you go with a 21 man roster. Opens up 500-600K to add to other positions of need where it will make more of a difference than having another guy in the press box. Hawks have many prospects up front and on D who are capable of coming up and playing a few games if someone gets hurt. No need for a deep NHL roster.
