I hope he can keep up that sort of productivity. I think it was a good move by him to leave the DEL where he just did not get decent playing time. Ehenlechner also has done well so far, with conceeding only one goal in his first 2 starts.
He has good scoring instincts and a quick accurate shot that he is willing to use in all situations. He has great overall speed and is very quick on the skates and loves to make shifty moves at high speed. He is a very smart and creative player with the puck.
If he has great overall speed he must have had one hell of an offseason. He looked like he was skating in quicksand at the World Juniors. He had no top end speed and no acceleration. I realize it was an uphill battle at the Juniors but he impressed no-one. It is a good move to come to the CHL. Ehelechner on the other hand was under-rated and i was touting him as the #2 goalie in the draft but the Crawford's , Howard's and Barulin's of the world went ahead of him. Even Boutin was drafted ahead of him which is just sad. Ehelechner has a chance to be a good NHL goalie. Nice to see him start off well. Anyone have an update on Ullman?
Ullmann plays in the german leage with the Mannheim Eagles, one of the top teams and he is doing well. I saw him several times and he never failed to earn my approval. He still has some maturing to do and get more consistency, but he will get there eventually. I am quite happy to have him on our team.
