If Gomez has another 40 point pace season next year, his trade value will be zilch.

If Gomez is on a 60 point pace and we are in the playoffs, we won't be trading him.

He's very likely to finish the year here next year no matter what.

Agreed. I don't know why some people would rather live in ignorance and purposely delude themselves into thinking otherwise.

Face it, he's a part of the team and the core of the team loves the guy, he's signed for a while and he isn't even close to worth what he gets paid nor will he be even when his salary goes down, his cap hit will remain the same and no Phoenix isn't going to take him off our hands for free. Rumors are rumors. Trades are trades. Let's just leave it at that. The habs org never releases information on deals they are doing or are considering so all of what was said was complete speculation in the first place.

No team is going to take him and it's delusional at best to consider the possibility. If I'm wrong don't worry I'll eat crow on a silver platter, but I'm not wrong. I've made posts like this several times so it won't be hard to find them and make me eat crow when the time comes, too bad it won't ever come.
