Very smart player. Definitely mentally ready for the NHL.
And with his style of play, I can't see him needing that much adjustment time to make at least some impact at the NHL level.

Like many NCAA rookies, though, he may have some trouble with the long schedule. With how well everyone raves about his conditioning, though, I suppose that won't be AS MUCH of a problem for him, specifically.

So now we'll have two science fiction writers on the team with him and Asimov.

This made my day. Besides Kreider, he is by far the prospect I am most excited to see play at the pro level. I really think he can be a big part of this team for years.

We could trade for Kunitz and ice Sagan-Asimov-Koontz as a line.

I see him more as a Korpikoski type. With Hagelin's work ethic and smarts, I think he will be a very good 3rd liner. Don't know if he'll ever be more than that, but most people didn't believe that Callahan would ever be more than that either.

Again you mention smart players, your agenda fools no one. You keep going on and on about smart players okay we get it, you didnt like the pick...I mean you like smart players. Its getting really repetitive !!

Seriously, great that he signed but not shocked at all, this kids a winner, keeping realistic expectations though, no need to rush him in anyway.

Is he a physical player? Does he like to hit and get his nose dirty?

Compared to most swedish players? Yes.

Compared to Prust and Callahan? No.

Rangers haven't put out a press release on Hagelin yet. They only tweeted the signing. Are they going to announce/press release Hagelin and another signing like they did with McIlrath and Bourque?

May be Werek or Kreider. I highly doubt it would be Kreider, though.

Michigan coach Red Berenson compares Hagelin to Darren Helm/Kris Draper.

Don't laugh. How many times did I type Anisimov instead of Asimov on Amazon or Google...?

Good news on Haglin.

Helm is a nice comparison for sure. Hagelin isn't quite as fast, but they do have similar characteristics.
