Jake Newton of the Syracuse Crunch! During a summer in house league. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

Never played with any NHL guys, but plenty of ex-Junior B/A types. Probably the best was an NCAA grad. I didn't dangle him, but he tried to dangle me. I stripped him of the puck and went the other way, dangled some other guy and scored.

But man...that NCAA guy moved like smoke. Even Junior players, guys that never even sniffed the NHL--their skating is incredible.

A bit mean....a lot funny....perfect.

I'm surprised there aren't more tall tales in here!

I usually end up just dangling myself when I try to put moves on people. Every now and then I can usually blow a couple good D-men away, but I get a bigger thrill out of shutting down hot shots, let them make first move, watch that logo, then POKE!

In a no check, men's league in Florida.
How's this for an impressive start?
1980, I was 19, and on a golf scholarship.
Playing in a men's league against Rosaire Paiment.
He was probably mid 40's by then, and if I remember, could only
see well (possibly at all) in one eye.
I came down the left wing, faked to the inside, went right around him on the boards to score.

I tried to get by him, oh, about 20 times after that in different games. No more element of surprise,
I ended up with no puck, or on my a$$ every other time

Never got by him again. He was a great guy to play in that league with!

I pick pocketed Jakub Voracek and out raced him up the ice for a snap shot glove side. He was pretty peeved.
