Who are the“bad guys” in "former management"?

Wayne Scanlan's column:

"He joked this week that he got rid of the “bad guys,” explaining on Friday that he was referring, partly in jest, to former management types in the organization (you know who you are) and not former players."

WTF? What's the common knowledge I'm missing of former management people screwing the Senators? I know Heatley screwed us, amongst other players, but management types? Refresh my memory please. And I don't mean stupid hockey moves by Muckler keeping Reds over Chara.

He's talking about Eli Wilson obviously.

What a bad guy.

I'm probably wrong but I think he's referring to himself.

Melnyk probably had a hand in all the moves and direction so far and now that we have nothing to show for it, Murray gets to rebuild this team his way and got a nice 3-year extension to help him do it.

His answer the other day was confusing. And he was trying to cover his tracks.

THIS

Melnyk is an owner that behaves and talks like a fan most days. He definitely had a player(s) in mind when he made his statement, then after he popped off realized his mistake.

No idea who the player was, but it might have been the Heatley saga still burning him.

I appreciate what Eugine has done for the Sens, I just wish he would think before he speaks at times.

All roads lead to Kovalev. A complete bust on the ice on top of being a total embarrassment to the franchise off the ice.

Dreadful.

that doesnt make him a "bad guy". he was simply a product of a previous ownership group and the eug wanted to get his own management group in here. i think it would be impossible for you to find anyone in ottawa who would have a single bad word to say about roy mlakar.

I'm implying that Eugene might have a bad word to say about him. I don'y think he was or is a "bad guy". He's a huge part of why we have hockey in Ottawa right now, and a huge part of why we had a finals run. Also a great guest appearance on Jim Rome.

Mlakar was taking offers/sussing out his options and Melnyk's a real "loyalty" guy so he forced Mlakar out. Doesn't make Mlakar a bad guy though.
