I don't care he wears a Halloween mask as long as he keeps the puck out of the net.

Although I was never a huge fan of the Simpsons, I respect the show's impact on and critique of popular culture. I like the stonewall typeset of "BOBS", but I was unable to make out what is in the center between Rocky and Sideshow Bob. Is it a solid mask, I am sure he has (or will) practiced with it a few times and if he wasn't comfortable with it he wouldn't wear it for Playoffs.

Time to make Bobrovsky a household name.

I would assume that it's the same brand as what he's got now and, like many NHL goalies, it's custom fit. Last I checked, a paint job doesn't affect how a mask fits.

Per @davegisaac (Dave Isaac) on Twitter it is Bob The Boulder and Bob's Big Boy... but glare doesn't allow hat to be seen. So there are three Bob references on it.

Bingo. These days, getting a new mask isn't much of a big deal. A lot of the better manufacturers will get a real good mold for you, and you can get a new mask without any problems whatsoever. It won't cause any issues.

Here I was hoping that they'd have airbrushed in a Bill Murray & Richard Dreyfuss pic.

agree.

Love this mask. I think it shows how relaxed and comedic he may be when comfortable!

So...
Sideshow Bob
Bob the Builder
Sponge Bob Squarepants
Rocky (not a Bob but still kicks butt)

Which Bobs has he missed?

Someone mentioned What about Bob? Some others:
Bob Newhart
Bob Dylan
Bob Barker
Bob Marley
Bob Denver (Gilligan)
Robert (Bob) Deniro - a Taxi Driver/Raging Bull mask?
Bob Loblaw (Arrested Development)

Am I the only guy who kinda misses Esche?

Before people go nuts on me for saying that, I know he's not a legit goalie, and no, I don't REALLY want him on the team, but he was the kind of guy it was fun to root for during the 03-04 season/playoff run. Or most of it, anyway...

Wasn't he known as Silent Bob for his shunning of the media when he was in the "zone"?

Does he have to clear that?

Simpsons people are notoriously litigious.

A Bob Barker mask would kick so much ass. Giant wheel on the one side and all.

My bad with the mask fitting, but goalies are a different breed and the same exact mask could potentially throw them off their game if it is touched by someone who shouldn't touch it.

I guess the biggest issue would be switching from a chrome cage to a black cage or white cage, but Bob doesn't have to worry about that with his 2 NHL masks.

Honestly, switching cage colors isn't as big a deal as you might think it is.

At least, it's never been an issue for me. You get over it after about 2 minutes.

Yea I guess, I had some trouble (on defense) switching to a chrome Jofa cage from a black one because it reflected more light and my peripherals were a little messed up. Then, when I switched back to a black Jofa for AAA, I had some issues picking up the puck in my skates and off the bounce...granted it was only at most an hour and a half practice that I was semi-uncomfortable with my reactionary senses.

For creatures of habit, which every NHL player is, including the less-sane goal tenders, something minor can have significant impacts, especially when someone's mind is not where it should be.
