Whoever wins the Joe Pavelski vs. Kesler battle will probably tip that series in one team's favor.

Vancouver in 6 ---- Vancouver in 5 ---- San Jose in 7
Phoenix in 7

Anaheim in 6
That would be mine brackets as well.

From the entertainment perspective, in the East Boston vs. Montreal is the most intriguing match-up with us against Washington a close second.
In the West - three great match-up but I'm sure Nashville vs. Anaheim is going to be "edge of a seat" too.

I think I love every one of these series.

San Jose-LA? Sign me up.

Anaheim-Nashville? Hockey fans know the potential this series could have.

Phoenix-Detroit? The team nobody cares about against the big bad Red Wings. And guess what? They've got a damn good shot to beat them.

Vancouver-Chicago? That's really all you need to say.

Buffalo-Philly? I think the Sabres are going to own the Flyers, and I can't wait to see it.

Montreal-Boston? One of the best rivalries in the game with so many story lines surrounding it. This will be great theater.

Tampa Bay-Pittsburgh? Maybe the series I'm least enthused to pay attention to, but also could be one of the most even series out there. This one is a toss up either way IMO.

Then you've got us, and we're going to surprise a lot of people with our play.

Should be a lot of fun.

Agreed. The playoffs have a chance to trek into epic territory this year.

If 5-6-7-8 seeds won in both conferences I wouldn't even be surprised.

I mean I'd be surprised cause of the odds of that happening are slim but you know what I'm saying. Not one of those series would an upset surprise me.

IMO all teams are as evenly matched up as you're gonna get from the 1-8, 2-7, etc. system.

I was just on the Canes board in their Around the NHL Playoff Thread and it seems like they all want Washington to beat us.. Does no one in that division hate each other? Under no circumstances I would ever want one of our division rivals to win- ever.

You see, the problem is people in Carolina don't realize the Capitals are in their division...

Yotes took Wings to 7 games last year. I wouldnt be surprised to see them advance.

Habs-Bruins should be a crazy good series.

Sour grapes.

Between Piles, Debbies and now Canes fans that's quite a bandwagon for Washington. Bandwagon is nothing new to them though.

If that's the case, then somebody has cheated us out of a substantial portion of our kingdom.

That's so stupid. I'm pretty sure we didn't knock them out of the playoffs. I'm pretty sure that Carolina controlled their own destiny. All they had to do was beat Tampa and the Rangers had nothing to do with the putrid performance of the Canes that day (or the epic performance of Mike Smith).

To be fair our fans on here were routing against them big-time (obviously) and I am sure some of the stuff we said in that GDT probably soured them a bit on the Rangers. I don't blame them for wanting to see the Rangers go down quick.

True. But at the same time it hurts more when you see the team that just edged you out have success. If we get swept then Canes fans can tell themselves well, Washington would have beat us anyway.

Lots of SE fans root for their division rivals in the playoffs, it's not just the Canes. Many hockey fans think the SE division is the worst in hockey so the SE fans will throw their support behind other SE teams in hopes that they prove the haters wrong.

Also, a lot of Canadian and even American fans hate that there are hockey teams in the South and are in favor of relocation. Winnipeg/Quebec City are itching for a team like the Thrashers to be relocated. So SE fans would much rather see a SE team win the cup than a Canadian team.

But also if we somehow win, they will say maybe they would have won, too.

So Dallas has no owners and no coach.
