Ever had one of those dreams were both Quick and Bernier were hurt, so Dean calls you up? You get all excited throw on the pads, jersey etc but only prob, you can't find your stick.. So you can't play the game.. By the time you do find the stick, your alarm wakes you up...

Had that dream a few times...

When I was a little kid I remember having this sort of dream, except the goalie was Kelly Hrudey. And he wasn't hurt, just playing terrible.

This series may (may) be closer than it seems.

Sharks PP is 2nd, their PK is 24th. Kings PP is 21st, their PK is 4th.

Advantage? PK. Per the NHL - The last four Stanley Cup winners ranked in the top eight in penalty killing during the regular seasons when they won the Cup. The last two Cup winners, the Blackhawks and Penguins, ranked 18th and 20th on the power play, respectively, in their regular seasons.

Sharks are the 6th best team on offense = Kings are 6th best on D.

Defense wins championships. Let's hope that holds true.

That actually happened to me, not on that big of a scale...lol got called up to a Junior A game, got all excited, I was 15 or so, ready to go, get in the car, going, going.......broke down on the highway....missed the game, never got called again...next sniff I got was a D1 scholarship that got yanked after injury.

Actually, offense has taken over in football too. Saints, Colts, Patriots...

D wins in basketball. Celtics, Lakers, especially the Spurs. Run and gun Suns always suck in the playoffs.

2000-01 Lakers: 3rd in offense, 23rd (!) in defense
2001-02 Lakers: 3rd in offense, 10th in defense
2002-03 Spurs: 12th in offense, 3rd in defense
2003-04 Pistons: 24th (!) in offense, 2nd in defense
2004-05 Spurs: 18th in offense, 1st in defense
2005-06 Heat: 6th in offense, 14th in defense
2006-07 Spurs: 14th in offense, 1st in defense
2007-08 Celtics: 11th in offense, 2nd in defense
2008-09 Lakers: 3rd in offense, 13th in defense
2009-10 Lakers: 12th in offense, 9th in defense

Average offense of the last 10 NBA Champions: 11th
Average defense of the last 10 NBA Champions: 8th

... It's leaned more to the defensive side over the last ten years, but it's pretty close. The numbers are all over the board.

As for the Suns, they lost in the playoffs for a few reasons. Not enough inside presence and as a result, not enough rebounding, too many jumpers and threes and not enough buckets, and yes - often a lack of D at critical times.

We made the playoffs as a higher seed than the defending cup champs.

Plan the parade, basically.

Mayors Manor #LAKings coach Murray says regardless of Justin Williams line-up status, he expects Westgarth to play first few games of series vs Sharks.

Westy hasn't been horrible, but I don't see any reason for this.

Those stats mean nothing with Kopitar and Williams out. Kings can barely score a goal a game now without the assistance of the other team.

me too.

however, i seem to remember DL firing him after everyone's exit interviews were completed. maybe the same thing happened there. i mean, i would tire of the constant yelling/screaming/ranting of my coach at some point.

as i say this i think there is a happy medium between him and say... TM.

then again, what do i know?

No he hasn't but I'd rather take my chances with Parse if he's heathy, the Kings need skill more than grit at this point.

It's not like it was earlier this season when it was Westgarth or Richardson, which I never understood. It's Westgarth vs. what... Harrold this time around? Westgarth won't get many minutes in any case.

Obviously Parse will replace Westgarth if he's healthy... he's not ready to go yet apparently.

Who sits for Williams? Moller? I would rather sit Westgarth and roll 4 lines.

Quick will also start every game, no matter what, according to Murray.

Ivanans did play in a game last year, but I don't remember what game it was.
