I don't see why everyone is surprised he said no.....I suppose he could have said yes, if Quick loses both legs, an arm, and let's in goals at the rate of 2000 per minute....but what's the easiest way to convey absolutely and complete confidence in your starting goaltender??? To remind everyone, not just him, but everyone, that he IS your starting goaltender ffs.

... He could have just said no, and left it at that? He was just being an ass.

Remember what he said about Bernier? I do.

How long did that plan last? About a day or so?

Remember when Murray said he would open up the offense this season and play with more possession? Yeah, good times.

If both teams play at their best, this is an easy series win for the Sharks. The Kings only have a shot if the Sharks look past LA to the second round.

The first two games will be a huge indicator of the Kings' chances. Game 1 is huge for LA. The Kings need to put some doubt in the Sharks mind.

As much as I want to defend Murray, he does make it very difficult when he speaks in absolutes like saying Bernier will NOT play any games against the sharx. Why does he say **** like that?

I wished he would talk less and just coach.

The funny part is all of you people never missing an opportunity to bash a coach and a GM that has brought winning hockey back to LA.

Wow just wow.

Now I really don't like Murray, for SOOOOO many reasons.

However I doubt he was just being an ass with the second 'no'.

Just a preliminary thought about why he would pause and then say no again, conjures up so many possibilities as to why he would do that.

The two at the forefront:

He says no. Then he thinks about elaborating on why, decides against it, and says no again instead, since he was already backed into the corner of saying more after no by then clearly thinking about it.

The more likely answer, imo, is that he said no, then thought about tempering that with something like you all wanted him to say, like "well it Quick isn't so sharp, then yes", but then remembered he needs to keep his confidence in Quick sky high, so decided against saying anything else, and instead, just no.

I doubt it was for dramatic effect... not Murray's style.

He's also old and slow and stupid. So he might have said no, then forgotten what the question was, then remember, and said no having forgotten he just answered it.

we haven't won a damn thing yet. if you're happy with just making the playoffs then good, but those that aren't will continue to question their actions. no problem with that, it wouldn't be much fun logging on and reading this board if it weren't for debates and opinions being shared.

Murray is saying he won't start Bernier, but if Quick has a meltdown or stinks it up I'm sure we will see Bernier.

He should have just said, "No, Quick is our number one goalie."

If Quick starts every game and plays every minute, then that means the Kings have a chance to win each game. Here's to Quick playing every minute.

I just hope he calls the players "chokers" after they are eliminated.

No ****. Two complete days with zero hockey sucks. At least I'm on vacation this week.

Can't wait for Vancouver-Chicago tomorrow. If Chicago wins, I expect the boards to crash.

This is not even worth a response. Winning hockey. What the **** does that even mean in relation to what the Kings have done. Don't answer that. I don't want you to be responsible for yet another infraction.

Winning hockey, you don't think the Kings have been playing winning hockey the past 2 years? Just curious....as I am pretty sure that is what he is eluding to.

Can someone with photoshop skills greater than mine (aka: anyone) make a spoof "Beat SJ" photo?

I think that it is also possible to separate the two positions. We are so overloaded with talented young players right now that I believe we are on the cusp of becoming a great team and I credit DL with making us one.

TM served his purpose and now can move on to that retirement villa out in Los Feliz, spit out his dentures and start waving his cane at "those damned pesky youngin's that keep ruinin his daytime stories" for entertainment.

TM brought in a sound defencive system and we have adapted our style as a team toward playing within it. Other than that he isn't any good. That said, due to the loss of Kopitar JW and even SP he might just be the perfect coach for us to have for the playoffs. He will either way get his shot and if we win the cup this year then all is forgiven but, it still won't make TM a good coach, a lucky one for certain and sometimes that is just as important as being good but his best days are years behind him.

Like his memory.

Supporting TM is like rooting for the Zombie's in night of the living dead, its fun for awhile but when it gets right down to it you want to see something other than a bunch of idle drooling by old dead from the neck up has been's.

That would be 1997, the last time Murray got a team out of the first round.

Murray is going nowhere.

Maybe after next season if the team doesn't make it to the playoffs.

This team has been molded and designed to play Terry Murray hockey, whether we like it or not.

I personally hope he opens it up a little next season, we'll see.
