I knew it. I wrote it. It was clear that the Craps were outplaying the Rangers: more energy, more skill, more confidence.
I was hoping it would go into the second OT and the Craps would get tired and lose some confidence. Alas, that was not to be.
Well we're just not as good as they are. We can fight, and fight hard, but heart only gets you so far, and then you're at a point where you need the talent.
I didn't see any bad Rangers out there tonight. A few bad plays but I thought they looked good.
Sure, it's a loss, but they were more than in that game. I'm really looking forward to next game. Would like to see Avery in the lineup. Not faulting anyone tonight.
They need to practice getting out of their zone. Truly scary all night long.
Bonehead play by Staal there. He was fantastic tonight though. Girardi too. Boyle and Prust worked hard all night. Wolski was good, Dubi not so much. Gaborik was OK. Props to Matty Gilroy. Proud of the boys.
The Good: Lundqvist
The bad : The refs on their game tying goal
The Redden: Marc Staal showing a complete lack of winners mentality with that utterly retarded play in OT. **** off
how is this on staal? all 3 forwards flew the zone while the puck was by the goal line. that was all captain clutch. how do you muff the puck at the blue line then proceed to fly the zone? moron...hope it doesnt ruin your weekend
For everyone blaming Staal, look forward to doing it more. You can only play so much before the fatigue catches up to you. The guy is leaned on too heavily at this point, he needs some support back there.
Rangers played a decent game. The better team won. Let's hope they can do a little better on Friday night.
Rangers were outplayed the entire game. Puck seemed like it was in their zone 75% of the time. Just brutal, no offensive flow. Everything was behind the net and on the boards. Once they moved it from there it was intercept. Shots all blocked. Just horrible offense.
Caps lock down in their D zone. Collapse the net like no one's business. I feel like we were playing 90s Devils.
The bad were the ****ing refs for not blowing the first goal dead as it should have been. How that can be a goal when you're pushing the goalie back into the net with your stick like that is beyond me. Unbelievable.
This game reminds me of the 2008 playoffs against the pens with the slewfoots and ******** goals and high sticks where drury is bleeding from his face and no call. We didn't have a chance in that series and we are ****ed now if the rest of this series goes that way.
Between that goal and the Ovechkin high stick called a rough the rangers don't stand a chance.
only in the new nhl.
It's basically 2009 all over again...we are way outmatched.
Yup. That's what happens when you are playing against a clearly superior team. And guess what - Brad Richards would not make us evenly matched with the Craps.
We need to wait for our prospects to join the Rangers. This game is further proof. The Rangers can work as hard as you want, they can care as much as you want, but ultimately, they can't play against the better teams in the league.
Uh, are you serious, chosen? That first goal should have been blown dead. Instead, the Caps get 5 minutes to hack at the puck and push our goaltender along with it into the net. That's not a ****ing goal. This game never should have went to overtime.
This is what happens when certain players is TOO much on the ice (Staal), when the coach doesn't play ALL players and when key players are JUST not there..
People are going to blame the refs, but I feel we weren't there after they were handed the goal for choping away at our goalie and our players doens't even take them out...
