Flyers Playoff traditions

I can't think of any flyers playoff traditions other than the kate smith/ lauren hart combo, which is oh so deadly.

But after watching a bit of history of the octopus and detroit, i thought it would be cool if the flyers had their own goal celebration.

Maybe we could throw tastykakes on the ice after a goal? i think that would be pretty cool. What you guys think.

That'd be such a waste of food, think of all the charities that could use those cases...

Also, TastyKake may no longer exist after this year. We need something cheap or close to worthless that people won't miss.

Maybe we can do a charity thing, where if you purchase a tastykake to throw out on the ice, you donate that money at some booth set up at wells fargo center. Maybe the company that owns the tastykake corp can donate money for each tastykake thrown ( great publicity) .

BUt most importantly it will show some true philadelphia spirit, and show our love and appreciate for a once popular philadelphia icon....the tastykake. Its already celebrated at flyers games, all we have to do is up it up a notch.

The Flyers would probably be assessed a delay of game penalty if the Tastykake thin happened for every goal

To be honest, I never liked the octopus thing in Detroit.

What a waste of a resource.

Wasting food, and basically the animal died for nothing.

A total waste.

My own tradition is to pace nervously back and forth in front of the TV and jump like a maniac when we score. I'm sure my neighbor below loves it, especially because the games start at 1am over here in Sweden.

The teams/facilities most definitely are not allowed to support or endorse throwing crap on the ice like that.

Is it really? One octopus that some rich glutton will eat, versus being a moment to be enjoyed by thousands?

Plus, it's still edible, kept on ice after all.

Kept on ice, except when it's smuggled in by way of some guy's trousers for however long it takes to get to/in the arena.
