Love it, especially with Sideshow Bob. I wonder if he's even seen the Simpsons .

Same with the designs on 90% of goalie masks, whats the big deal?

Not to mention that some of the more predominant things in peoples lives are also fictional...not naming things, but I'm sure you get the point.

Rocky provides a connection for Bob to the city and to Flyer fans. I have always preferred masks with a connection to the city the goalie plays for or personal things as opposed to just fancy designs, like Marty Turco's helmet and the Gargoyles etc.

Am I the only one that thinks it's strange for a Russian goalie who speaks very little English to have an American flag flying on his helmet? I like the hat, but it seems a little strange...

Seriously, WTF is Bob doing getting a new mask for the playoffs. He should be worried about stopping the f'ing puck, not breaking in a new mask. This actually worries me that he doesn't have his crap together.

If he doesn't play well, I hope he has a nice design on the back pad too, because that's all that'll be on camera as he's fishing the puck out of the net.....

He's not going to be worried about breaking in a new mask.

There's nothing to break in these days.

You need to chill.

The front of the mask as mentioned:Bob the builder and Bob's Big Boy as Mt. Rushmore faces? I'd love to know the story behind this.

The story is his nickname is Bob and he's got a bunch of Bob references on the mask. My guess is he told the artist to put as many Bob references on the mask as he could and throw Rocky on there too.

Personally I think this is a major downgrade from his current mask and no goalie should have a mask with a man's nipple on it

While on the subject of Bobrovsky, here is some light pre-game reading from credentialed reporter David Strehle:

Thanks for reading!

I read somewhere that the artist made the design, then got Bob's approval. Also said that he won't be wearing the mask unless something happens to the current one; this is the backup mask. I think it's more likely that we'll need a backup goalie before he needs a backup mask.

Bob will not sport his new mask tonight. Instead he will wear his current one and use this new one as a backup if needed.

Makes you wonder what his backup mask was prior to this one.

Maybe someone talked some sense into him that his original mask is much better than the new one?

It was put out in articles before...the new playoff mask is just his new backup mask for the playoffs and he doesn't plan on wearing it unless something happens to his current one.
