I thought Simmonds had a pretty bad game. Should have dumped the puck behind the net instead of bobbling the puck with Martinez at the blue line. That's how you screw up games. The Kings had the advantage with the Sharks having only 5 d-men, so we should have continued the cycling game.
Simmonds played well, did make a mistake at the end, but...overall played well....

Bottom line is this, both teams came to play, and we got one helluva an exciting game because of it, this series can easily go 7, it can easily go 4, it all depends on what lessons the Kings learn game to game, shift to shift.

I think they showed themselves, and most of the doom n gloom, if they stick to the system, if they win those battles, they can hang and outplay and win games, we had more chances to win, I counted at least 3 before the GWG came down, a simple bounce here and there, game over, we win.

After the first period they did. Must have a better start on Saturday.

Still sucks losing in OT.

TG,

Not sure if you saw it in the GDT, no, I don't think the game has passed Murray up

Game 2 will be tough without Stoll. He'll get one game IMO.

Nothing to be ashamed about there.

Your team showed a lot of heart.

Quick was amazing.

The Kings are more than capable in beating this team, they're not as great as the media claimed to be. I feel A LOT better than last year.

This is one of those games that afterwards you sit in the locker room empty, steam coming off of everyone everywhere and before anyone starts to gripe someone stands up and says "******* THOSE GUYS, NEXT ONE IS OURS! WAY TO GO BOYS(AND GIRLS DEPENDING)!" and then everyone laughs and throws towels at them but knowing that the truth was just spoken.

We have these guys and we will win this series.

I can just feel it and I do truly believe that we will.

Great game by the team and great game by the fans on the boards tonight.

Reload and we come back kicking butt next game.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A KINGS FAN!!!!

Pretty sure it was the SJ coach who said it would be a race to three? Murray is still trying to win 2-1.

Quick was amazing tonight, but he has to almost be perfect for the Kings to win.

Heartbreaker but shows this shouldn't be a run away like most predicted. Quick was awesome minus the one goal. The power play was a joke again. I've never seen a team not try to improve their pp, it's getting progressively worse.

I'd normally but worried about AMart's psyche after that finish but I am convinced the kid has icewater in his veins, will shake it off and come back just as strong next game.

Speaking of the next game, we should also agree to go into it with a bit more confidence, myself included.

Go Kings!

Williams was a bigger asset than i thought he would be.

was that Doughty who missed the hit on Coulture for the 2nd goal? whoever that was....could have played a little more conservative.

richie could have had the goal, but it happens

LOL really?

So the system of cycle, wait for mistakes, counter attack, etc, that didn't work tonight? Really?

that was dewey. he had a pretty rough game IMO. but it was rough in the right way. he was trying to do too much, not disappearing from the play. hopefully he gets a day to look at the tape and realizes he can settle it down.

GREAT effort from the kings. all night. wish quick and drew were stronger on that second goal but they battled all night. we have a shot in this series, no question about it.

An excellent game.

Our boys showed up in the second period and never wavered. They had their chances, God knows the game nearly ended on Brad Richardson’s stick. Alas, hockey is a game of inches.

I don’t know how this series will end. I do know this. The Kings proved the Sharks mortal and well within our ability to beat even without Anze Kopitar. Build on this effort and this series is ours to win.
I respect the San Jose Sharks’ organization and their fans. But to their pompom waving types, I am flying to San Jose for game 2 and they best keep their white tampons out of my face.

I am going to roar our boys to victory.

Everyone seems to be soooooo positive about this loss. But the fact is we blew a chance to steal one on their ice. In fact we gave it away. Literally. So many mistakes by a young team. Looked like we were playing for a shootout that never came.
