Gaborik absolutely has to be a factor.

I've learned to temper my expectations with Avery a bit, but I'm happy that he's playing. I believe Avery's had limited success with Anisimov in the past. He'll also add some much-needed physicality - Rangers let the Caps dictate the physical tempo of the game and that needs to change.

Also, it's quite clear that OV, Semin, and Co. get a little flustered when things don't go their way. If Avery can throw them off their game a little more, I'm all for it.

you do realize they are a better road team than they are at home dont you? Not to mention Ovy's love for MSG. 2 losses on the road most likely means sweep...

Avery and EC in….. Zucc out (my 2 cents)…. Hopefully EC is off his Zoloft and Avery is the on HIS game……….

I’d like to see a blow out like during the season……

Gabby is on the verge of breaking out of his season long slump….. We have seen it building….. let it happen on game two.

LGR…..

if avery is dressed and is on the ice with Ovy, its a bench mistake and torts is simply setting his goat up to fail. Avery has not business being on the same sheet of ice with Ovy...EVER. And we dont have anyone who can put a hurt on ovy, we just dont...sucks but its true.

that said, my heart could sure use a blowout as well tonight lol.

This will be interesting. People were *****ing about the penalty Mats took in game 1 (even though it was BS call). Now lets see if Avery can keep himself in check, I am afraid he won't be able to. Hope I am wrong though, we really need this one!

LGR!

If I were Torts I'd be like
"Avery, try not to get any penalties while doing this, but go out and **** disturb."

Torts needs to let Avery use his edge.

Torts and Larry had another dust up this morning

Another war of words between Tortorello and NY Post's Larry Brooks at morning presser. Couple of "F bombs" exchanged. Now we have a series

Cutting down Torts video to two minutes proves beneficial with ultra-slow upload. Still going to be a while, but you'll want to watch.

What a joke. Zuc should've been playing 20 minutes per game. I'm sure he wouldnt't do any worse than 7 million joke gaborik.

Yet he doesn't get to play at all. He played 2 minutes in the last season game and still managed an assist.

Can't wait for Rangers to lose series 4-0, Zuc playing great in WC and then going to a non-idiotic club next year.

In discussing his lineup choice, coach John Tortorella expressed some reservations about the 5-foot-7 Zuccarello and “whether he can handle the size and the overall consistency of playoff hockey, I’m not sure.” Tortorella said he still wasn’t sure where Zuccarello’s NHL career would play out but that he certainly had a chance to adapt

“It’s been a long year for him as far as up and down and learning the new game in North American, playing in the minors with everybody chasing you around,” Tortorella said. “It’s still an open book for him as to where he sits as a National Hockey Leaguer. He sees the ice. He makes some plays that some players don’t see.”

I'll set the over/under on some of Avery's signature moves:

Bad Penalties: 1
Fails to Clear the Zone: 2
Blind Backhand Pass from Behind the Net Turnover: 2
Blatant Dives: 2.5
Offsides: 3

I want to be clear; I loved what Avery brought when he first came to the team, but now that is ancient history. He has had plenty of chances this year to make a positive contribution and has failed to do it. I just can't see him making any sort of net positive impact.

Zucc is not what is best for the team right now. He was one of the worst players on the ice whenever he got on in game one. Get over it and stop posting bull ****

Um, the last time we were in the playoffs against the Caps? When it really mattered?

And the MZA penalty was a really, really bad call.

Short memories around here.

My friend and I will be conducting a mid-game power hour in order to cope with the stress of playoff hockey involving the Rangers.

I think it was a perfectly good call and I put more relevance on something that happened two days ago than two years ago.
