Phillies' Baseball (MLB): Contreras to Popular Belief

Continue discussion here. The title is open to debate, I just threw something up there to fill space.

I don't mind the title. Other thread title suggestions:
Contreras to Popular Belief
Joe has a ring, too
The Ben Francisco Treat
Chooch: The horse whisperer

I can respect that stance. But even if I liked one sport more than the other (hockey and baseball are about neck-and-neck to me) I still go by the principle if one team I'm rooting for is in the playoffs, let alone the finals, it takes precedent over a regular season game of another team I root for, and I only switch over to the regular season game during breaks of the post season game. Now if something historical like a Perfecto/no-no is going on after about 6 innings, all bets are off.

I am just addicted to baseball. Cant get enough of it, but I also love hockey.

As far as the thread is concerned, I like the Contreras and Ruiz one's alot. i was going to start one saying, "It's Operating Time!"

Going to the Phils game on Sunday to celebrate my birthday.

I just realized who's pitching.

It's Joe Blanton....

Well, let's look at the positives to your game w/ Blanton on the mound. He's got good numbers both at home and against the Marlins, and what are the odds he lays eggs 3 games straight? They're probably not bad, but they're not great either. And to boot it looks like the Marlins will send Volstad out there, who has a 5+ ERA at CBP.

Cliff Lee looking nasty atm.

E: Cliff Lee sees Halladays complete game, and raises a complete game shutout. The bet is now to Oswalt.

Rather the title be about a current player.

Lee was filthy today, but Nationals lineup is weak, especially w/o Zimmerman.

It's April. It's going to be cold at night games no matter where you're sitting. I don't know left field like the baselines and behind home plate, so I couldn't tell you about any wind tunnels or anything. But just bring an extra sweatshirt or something.

Dunno why Manuel kept him in there for Dobbs. Baez got 1 out and he was lucky to get that.

Charlie's moves with the pen make little to no sense at times. I get he wants to keep guys out there to show confidence in them, but why go match-ups with Romero agaisnt a lefty then take him out cuz he gave up a tough-luck infield single, let Baez fall apart and then pitch against a lefty in Dobbs only to give up a hit, and then bring in Bastardo to face the next guy who is a lefty?
