I went with Gilroy...but it's more for his lack of physical ability than his actual play...he's been ok, not great, not awful. But he's getting manhandled out there, and its limiting who you can put him out there against.
I simply don't understand what is Torts infatuation with Gilroy.
I hardly think he's infatuated with Gilroy, he just doesn't like the mistakes Eminger is prone to because they're usually "WTF" type mistakes...like somehow ending up above the circles without any forwards backchecking in their own zone
I see alot of comments saying we need more offence so sitting McCabe isnt a good idea or that it doesnt matter who we sit on D because the forwards are not producing.
But doesnt the addition of Eminger and the sitting of one of the softy brothers give Staal/DG a chance to play less minutes thus making them more effective, and with the way Eminger playes he can tie up his man along the boards better then Gilly or McCabe can providing room for the forwards to break out through the Caps, as of late, staunch neutral zone game?
At this point, down 2-0, Eminger seems like a well calculated risk to me.
McCabe. What has he done? The PP looks horrible, which is why he was brought here. All he seems to do is shoot the puck into defenders. He had 6 shots blocked game 1...didnt count this game, but there were definitely a few
Actually i disagree i think hes been good on the PP, imo the most consistent and calming presence in terms of making a pass on the PP. It other guys i worry i.e forwards that stink the place up with their horrific play down low on the PP.
Eminger should definitely play, we need to be more physical and he can actually hit a bit. McCabe and Gilroy are about even in my book right now but Gilroy can actually skate and offensively he's not much worse so I'd sit McCabe.
