I have been trying to say this. If you think that Datsyuk is worth $4 million then you have to give Frolov around $4.5-5 million. If you do not there will be great tension.
Datsyuk has been around longer and produced more than Frolov last year. He's closer to free agency so he requires more financial incentive to sign a long-term deal (whereas we own Alex's ass for most of the decade). Unless Frolov's agent is putting stupid ideas in his head, there's no way he should expect more than Datsyuk.
Who's worth more in the long run is a different issue. And how much Frolov will require to pry him from Russia is yet another issue.
