Right now Handzus was one of 3 players(# might be wrong) to play the entire season on an injury plagued Philly team. His playoffs numbers were Better than Bert's and he's three million dollars cheaper. The biggest problem is the cap. Right now the Flyers are cutting it close after the RFA's are all signed. Taking on an extra $1.5 million in capspace could be real dangerous when you consider the names we're going to have to sign.
I'd take Bertuzzi in a minute, but as everyone has written here, he simply makes way too much at $5-something per season for the Flyers to fit under their cap. Furthermore, while Vancouver is not that big up the middle, they're deep - much, much deeper than they are at right wing.
Considering the Nucks aren't scrambling to get under the cap, their only motivation might be to move on beyond the whole Moore fiasco. Frankly, I don't think that's going to get the Flyers any kind of discount, and they'd have to include more than Handzus, meaning prospects and/or picks, not just Brashear. Bertuzzi is still the closest thing to Cam Neely in the NHL today.
