I guess I'll wait to hear it live to pass judgement. I couldn't really hear it on the tv except for after the 4th or 5th goal and it didn't sound like anybody was 'dooping'. They really seemed to be pushing it though because they played it almost up to the drop of the puck. I don't remember Bro Hymm ever playing that long.

This has to be put into place. After it is over I still find myself singing it out loud. An annoying, catchy, crowd chant song like this is just what we need to fire up the WFC and completely irritate the other team and their fans

As long as we win with it...if it's a short post-season god forbid then we may have to do a parody and do the POOP song.....and then bury the DOOP song! I don't see the DOOP song replacing Kate Smith anytime soon however although the technicolor Kate Smith good luck deal is wearing on me a bit. I'd like to move on from the 70's....a cup win will obviously help that. DOOP DOOP DOOP

I like the Smith/Hart 'duet', but I wish they'd only do it during special games. Home opener, playoff clincher, cup finals. It just seems like they do it almost every playoff home game now.

This is the only way I'll tolerate it. I hate it. Just say heckno to techno.

Also, I dont see how Seven Nation Army can be annoying? One of the best guitar performances? Nah, not annoying.
I love ADTR...I'm just saying that the intro to that would annoy the hell out of other teams/other teams fans...which I like.

It'll already happened bro.

Was anyone here at the game? Was the new son received well? Were people dooping along? I always thought fans should have hummed along with Bro Hymn, but I feel as though it is a necessity to doop along.

Good point..it's being overused and becoming a banality which actually undermines her memory a bit..at least IMO.

The first time I remember seeing it was a home opener against Vancouver back in 2000 or 2001 I believe. I thought it was the coolest thing ever lol. It's not good luck if they use it all the time haha.

They've done everything short of digging Kate's bones up and hanging her from the rafters.

How could they be so short-sighted and allow that neat, unique ritual be bled of meaning?

I was there, no one was "dooping", you could barely hear anything besides the techno beats. Felt like a rave was about to bust out. But I don't care what song they play as long as they're scoring goals.

Wasn't loud enough. No one was clapping along until the 5th goal (they did the stupid McDonald's promotion after the 4th goal so they had to play "Feelin' Hot" or whatever, I wish they would banish that for the playoffs). No one could tell what it was except me and my brother because I'd read this thread. It could work if it was louder and people doop along, but it really doesn't go with the boisterous goal horn like Bro Hymn did.

I'm very eager to hear what this sounded like. The NHL.com highlights are too short, are any of them on youtube?

I thought I heard the song yesterday and not having seen this thread before wondered why they changed the goal song.

It definitely needs to be louder if they're keeping it. I couldn't hear any dooping from the crowd or even from the song.

i like it a lot.

went to the game against phoenix a couple months back and there was a section in the mezzanine that stood and chanted and sang the whole time (reminiscent of soccer and the doop song), it was great. i wish all fans were that into it, instead of just stuffing their faces with food and sitting silently.

It just sounds so awkward going from the loud mean goal horn and then it just goes to the soft techno doop doop doop in that weird voice, dont like how it mixes at all.

I agree. I wonder if they might not play with it a little bit...play DOOP a little louder, or get somebody to a mix that's a little harder and not so...I don't know, perky?
