Just got back from the game. The Garden was rocking!
Dubi comes through in the clutch once again, just like he did against the Bruins two weeks ago. He really elevates his game during crunch time.
Fedotenko was a MONSTER. Just grinding it out, had a solid game defensively and offensively. Avery was great too, and he looked a lot like the Avery of old. Boyle was good as well, easily his best game of the series.
Staal and Girardi looked great today. Staal's shot that led to the rebound on Prospal's goal was one of the best shots I've seen him take: he elevated the puck as a Cap was sliding down to block a shot and Neuvirth had to fight it off. More of that, please! And not like it even needs to be mentioned, but Lundqvist was a stud as usual.
Now for the bad: Gaborik, Anisimov, Stepan, McCabe, Gilroy. It's getting to the point where Gaborik may be a liability out there - bad penalty that leads to a Caps PP goal. Him and Stepan looked really nervous and indecisive on the PP, I couldn't stop screaming at the two of them to stop playing pattycake with the puck. McCabe is done, by far our worst defenseman. I couldn't wait until AA and Stepan were off the ice. Unfortunate but they look really shaky and are not playing smart hockey right now.
They played a full 60 minutes today and not 20 or 40. It's simple, we certainly need a similar effort on wednesday.

Yup. During the game I had a post lamenting the PP. It's just unacceptable for an NHL team. And it's absolute ******** when people claim it's because a lack of talent. When you watch our PP, you'd think that we were a bunch of ECHL players. We have enough talent to have a respectable PP, without a doubt.
I don't know what game you people were watching, but Prospal had a terrible game. He had atleast four excruciating giveaways. One of the giveaways turned into Gabby's late game tying goal penalty.

One thing I find amazing. When we win a playoff game against the Number One team in the Eastern Conference 2010/2011, the joy and praise is quite modest here on the boards. When we loose - the threads are immediately miles long full of conflict & negativity and everybody flaming the teams, the management, the officiating and each other beyond absurdum (whatever that means).
Every Tom, Dick & Harry comes outta the woodworks to ***** & moan like a flock of bitter feminists stuck on a deserted Island all with major PMS symtoms (no pun intended).
Which of you folks (guys & girls alike) here are real fans - and which of you are little petty Drama Queen whiners? I´d seriously like to know that.
I cant believe more people arent mentioning Brandon Prust. What a warrior this guy is. He is in everyones face all game long and he creates chance after chance with his speed and forecheck. Absolute keeper.

Seems like a lot people are forgetting Jesus Prust...he did all the things he always does. He did lose Ovi on the first goal, but he did all the little things really well.
he may not be the gamebreaker we were looking for when we signed him (stupid to think he was) but he has been playing really well lately so whatever gotta live with the contract so might as well see the brightside of it
