Even though Dubi scored the GWG, I still don't think he deserves it. Too many plays earlier where he could have moved in closer to take a shot or just shoot but instead he opted - of course - to pass.

POTG: Henrik Lundqvist.

Hopefully they have a tad more confidence in the goal scoring department after today. I think you could tell the drought was on their minds at times during the game.

POTG-Henrik and Feds in a tie

On a side note, I am almost sure I am in the minority (probably the only one actually), but I think Gaborik is going to break out soon.

On a different note, after Ovechkin scored they showed his stick. That certainly looks pretty close to the limit on the curve, no? I'd love to see them measure it.

They did make a comment about that as well in the broadcast. Something we should keep in our back pocket. Though we wouldnt score on the PP anyway.

Too bad coaches just don't think of that very often. Last time I remember it happen was when someone did it to us on Jagr.

That's immediately what I thought of when they showed his stick, and spoke of his "tremendous" curve or whatever it was.

Keep it in your back pocket until we're facing elimination, or in a game seven or something.

It is seen as slightly underhanded to challenge a stick.

Just about every star player in the league has an illegal curve.

That is true. But Montreal may have won a cup because of it. Whatever it takes.

This is true.

It's why I'd save it for a huge moment. I wouldn't want to face the retribution.

Yeah but that 3rd line played a hell of a game. Avery was more like his normal self out there.

There won't be an update until later tonight. I got to prep. My roller hockey team has its championship game tonight against our hated rival.

Great win today btw!
Haha... good post.

These teams are real close to being even. Team statistics throughout an 82 game season show this. This series winner looks like it might come down to goaltending and Hank has the advantage over Neurvirth

I still don't like these defensive first style both team are playing this series but it is what it is.... lol

Yeah. I also remember Gretzky telling whoever our coach at the time was to call it on Roman Hamrlik and we got the PP.

The big problem with this though, is that the referees are incompetent and most of them do not even know HOW to correctly and accurately measure the curve.

A couple things again, in closing...

Who expected Christensen to score a big playoff goal for us?

Prospal's return was so important to this team. Prospal himself is so important to this team that you wonder how we'll replace him.

McCabe needs to get gone, still. Would be for an Eminger insertion for him.

After watching McCabe for 10 or so games after we acquired him, I was on board with bringing him back for another year. What I've seen since, yeah...not so much.

He is a shot and some grit and thats about it.

He isn't suited to "QB" a power play, is better as a complementary guy that the point.

His positioning in the D zone is iffy, and his speed is awful.

He hasn't been Ozolinch bad, but in my eyes it hasn't been far off.

He's sometimes good on the PP.

But my initial assessment of "he's a terrible d-man" from before we acquired with him seems to be true.

I'd rather give a guy like V-tank a chance to make the roster if we just need a shot on the PP.

Despite Anisimov's lack of offense so far, he has been very solid in his own zone.

Stepan has been struggling a little bit.
