I dont necessarily disagree. Frankly I see him peaking at 30 goals as well (if that!). I'd see him more as a 20/25-40/50 guy myself, in fact. But he also brings other intangibles to the game that comrie doesn't. Grit, size and Defensive awareness being the more prominant ones. From a Toronto perspective, I don't move Antropov for Comrie, even though I acknowledge the value favours Comrie over Nik. Once Sundin retires, I think Nik will be our only sizeable center; and we have a future Comrie in Alex Steen coming up soon.

He brings other intagables as well. He is the fastest one-legged skater in the nhl right now.

I agree, Nik for Mike makes no sense for either the Leafs or the Oilers. Comrie's value will be going to a team who needs a good 2nd line playmaking center and already have big wingers. Hard to find.

Everyone is saying how "ther already have a comrie" in their system. There were only 5 centers who scored 30 goals or more last year and 7 the year before that. Does everyone really think they have a future 30 goal center? These guys are RARE!!! I am not a fan of how this whole comrie thing is playing out, but I gotta kid the kid props. He is very talented and is being undervalued on these boards tremendously.

I agree with Lowe, hold out till someone make a killer offer - at some point in the year a guy will get hurt or a team will be on a skid and will come running to Lowe. Wait til then. The most important thing for all of us to do is stay patient!!! Comrie is very valuable and we deserve a top player in return.

At least those are my thoughts...

And no. Nik is not a worthwhile return.

Hey s7ark, cut that out. The last thing we need is to use arbitrairy things like "past performance" to cloud the issue. The fact is, Nik beat out travis green and robert reichel for the 1st/2nd line centre job so he would easily be our first line centre.

Seems like a fair trade to me... Some on both sides hate it, some on both sides love it...
