So what's the backstory on Boucher? Is he really that much better than Bobrovsky? I was disappointed the Sabres didn't get a chance to give him an extended test.
No, he's limited in his ability but is pretty good at making the 1st save and plays calm. Boosh plays the puck a lot better than Bob which helps the breakout. Bob is extremely athletic and will be a good goalie but he's 22 and doesn't speak English.
IMO the Flyers should go with Boosh because Buff isn't really generating much outside of the PP and they don't need terrific athletic goaltending, they need steady, make the 1st save goaltending.
I actually think the two games the Sabres have played so far in this series are no where near the best games since Pegula took over as owner or even since Jan. 1.
They played a nice shutdown in the 3rd period of Game 1 but the first two they had pretty well zero offensive thrust or opportunities. Game 2 was horrible and still only 5-4.
Miller was solid and well above average in Game 1 and below average in Game 2. He's usually better than Game 2.
Our D has been better. For sure Myers has been in the second half. Montador cannot play any worse. Can he?
Ennis, Stafford, Boyes, Pominville , Tiny Tim have all done zero.
Who is playing better than expected or even up to potential? MAG, Butler, Special Nieds, Grier.
Yet this series is tied 1-1.
To me, if they turn it up, which they should at home, we can take this team.
We're going to find out over the next two games if the second half was a mirage, and this team needs to be broken up, or whether they are for real and just need a couple of key acquisitions in the office season.
I did that Saturday and they lost. Now I have no idea what to wear. Huge game that they need to win.
Flyers - 5
Sabres - 2
It's my fault they lost, I had tickets to see a band that required a bit of a drive, so I missed the entire game...Its actually the first time I ever DVR'd a game and watched it in its entirety as if it were live.
I should have been keeping track on my phone, I guess
Finding some balance between offense and defense would be nice to see. Montador/Sekera being even average defensively and Ennis/Boyes waking up will do it. Not having to spend a quarter of the game on the PK will do great things for the offense too.
"Looking for tickets for tonight's game? Come down to the Party in the Plaza with your best sign & have a chance to win tickets the game. Members of the Pegula family will be in the crowd looking for the best sign!"
