well, they got to the finals with those two
I still think, this team will play with a hell of a lot more confidence with boosh / leighton then bob / boosh

not sure why you all think bobs is that good ? cuz, i just cringe when i hear he is starting in net

without a difference in opinion, these forums would be of no use to us
hehe

Something must have happened behind the scenes. Maybe Bob asked for a break, told them he did not feel prepared to carry the load.

Guhhhreeaaaaat.

Just what I wanted to hear. The sieve Boucher starting and the bum Leighton back-up.

Leighton has played ONE GAME this year and he was awful. What the heck!

Every time Leighton was in net and the other team crossed center ice, I flatlined. He's not a good goalie. He's just large, and that's it. That works if the other team is held to the outside...not so much anything else.

With Pronger not around to clear the front of the net, Leighton WILL get destroyed if he plays. Any time a team establishes net presence, he lets in goals. He's too bad/slow to deal with that...and to top it all of, he's rusty and has a bum back.

This only has potential to fail if it's true.

Am I the only one who still doesn't believe this? I still haven't heard it from anyone that I call a credible source.

It's almost like Briere's kids are now in charge ??? Sad part, is there isn't much this management team does anymore that surprises us

I'm choosing to believe it so I have something to kill time with.

Complaining about (possibly) nothing > nothing

I still refuse to believe that this is true. I mean if a bunch of Flyer fans on HF Boards can figure out that Leighton just isn't a good goalie; how can the management not see it? This is an NHL team we're talking about! is our management just that stupid?

Let's face it, guys. If we need to pull Boucher for either Bob or Leighton, we've probably lost the game anyway.

It's going to take a lot more than 3 first period goals to make Laviolette replace Boucher with Leighton in this game.

Not to single you out because other people are saying it, but I love everyone talking about what Bob "deserves" because he played well this season blah blah blah. But Leighton in net for the turnaround of the season last year and throughout the playoffs and he didn't "deserve" to be resigned. One season of solid stats for Bob=deserves to start in the playoffs. One season of solid stats and a Cup run for Leighton=doesn't deserve his contract or a chance to dress.

"A huge surprise is that it appears Sergei Bobrovsky, the starter in the first two games, could be the odd-man out in Philadelphia's three-goalie rotation.

Laviolette refused to name his backup and the team's goalies were not talking to the media Monday morning, but it appears Bobrovsky will be in street clothes Monday night after he was the goalie left on the ice to work with Philadelphia's healthy scratches after the formal part of practice ended. He also did not have a stall in the visitor's dressing room, while both Boucher and Michael Leighton did."

1) Leighton did NOT deserve 1.55 million dollars. No way. He also didn't have a SEASON of solid stats. He had half a season...compared to an entire career of subpar performance.

2) Bob deserves it because he's played well this season. What has Leighton done this season? Nothing. Nothing at all.

3) you forget about the whole "lying about back injuries that require surgery" thing.

Scratching Bobrovsky outright for a guy who did absolutely zero to get us into the playoffs? Talk about an over-reaction...
