In Line Hockey

Thinking of getting back into inline hockey. Im not sure where yall play but is there a specific place for pickup games? I rather not go to ANaheim and play with a bunch of duck fans lol so if you have any suggestions i would like to check them out. Thanks!

Toyota Sports Center has a nice rink. It's one of the few enclosed ones in the LA area. I'm not sure if there's another one, actually. Plenty of concrete park rinks, I play at one in Calabasas. Would help to know where you're located.

The Calabasas rink is at De Anza park. The TVRHL is the league that plays there, I'd recommend getting in touch with them.

There's also a rink in North Hollywood. I think it's Potell? Don't know much about it though.

I play in Irvine at 949. I love it. There are alot of duck fans but plenty of kings fans as well. In fact I might need an extra player on my team for next season on Wednesday nights. This wont be for at least a month and a half or so but if you, or anyone, are interested let me know.

TSC inline rink is most likely being torn down. Although ive heard this rumor for the last few seasons there, it looks to be almost finalized. Close to that is the Wilson Park rink in Torrance. FYI, for anyone close to TSC area that reads this thread.

There is that rink and an outdoor rink in Covina on Glendora and Cypress at Wingate Park. A few friends and I started playing there on the weekends occasionally. Wingate is FREE but there aren't any nets. You have to birng those.

I grew up just down the street from there, use to go up and skate around those rinks. I played at the west covina rink, its really horrible, but pretty cheap to play if I remember correctly, alot cheaper than what I pay to play here.

For some free "parking lot pickup," try the Rosebowl on Wed evenings - start around 5:30 and play till it's dark.

Parking lot K (southwest of main south RB entry - just west of the Arroyo). They're a pretty good bunch.

Thanks Butch. I've heard about the rose bowl pickup games. I wasn't too sure if they are still present. I will check them out. At the same time, I will check out the burbank one as well.

Thanks guys

I also play at the 949 on Wednesday nights. What team are you on?

why would they do that? what is going in it's spot?

More importantly, where will they have GM Breakfasts?

I've also heard about Tsc tearing down the roller rink.

Anyone know of any roller rinks around the northridge area?

Dont plan on playing there for long. The rink has plans of shutting down the in-line rink and putting in a new sheet of ice on that surface. Constrcution purportedly to begin within the next 3-4 months.

Mar Vista Park in West LA has a rink, but I dont know if there is a league that plays there anymore.

Roller is just an invitation to injury, at least for me, although alot of the Michigan crew that I play ice with played for many years at South Park in Hermosa every Saturday morning for about 7-8 years. It was a great rink, about 140' by 70' , good smooth surface and great boards. The city got too many complaints from neighbors and locked it all up a couple of years ago.
