Get Vanek away from Connolly and Pominville asap. Nobody on that line has been particularly effective, but the latter two are the ones getting the touches and losing the battles, at least from what I saw in the third.

The turnaround in this game was incredible. The Sabres looked amazing in the first period and just completely stopped playing in the second and third. I don't think I've ever seen such a noticeable change between an intermission.

He really is a microcosm of the team as a whole. it's kinda scary.

Why does Connolly get thrown out of the face off circle so much? I've never seen anything like it.

How do they expect to win if they don't ****ing shoot? I mean how many shots did they actually get on net in the last 5 min. of the game?

I swear to god I was watching someone hit the replay button over and over again. Enter the zone wide along the wing and get trapped along the boards. If they were lucky to get past it they just passed it deep along the boards until someone tried to stuff it short side. ****ing pathetic effort by the whole team tonight.

the 4th line did some good stuff. It's tough to win when your 1st line is a no show at even strength.

The 5 on 3 was awful. Pominville's been awful in the playoffs for going on his third straight stint.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

The bottom 6 forwards have been the best forwards and the top 6 is nowhere to be found.

Having a center that can create his offense would be great right about now.

As would having a couple of defensemen who were solid defensively shift-on-shift.

The shopping list should include at least one defenseman this summer.

They're getting the touches because, unlike Vanek, they are trying to get the puck. Vanek effiort has been brutal

Why is it always "Get Vanek away from X"?

How about he just goes out there and scores some ****ing goals? ES goals. When we're down. In the ****ing playoffs?

Don't you know it's never his fault when he struggles.

So infuriating to watch these guys fail so hard, again, in the playoffs.

I just wanna line them up, have Gerbe get on a step stool and punch every single one of them right in the nose.

Does the environment make the criminal, or is he born that way?

Analogously, do Vanek's linemates bring in him down in the playoffs, or does he just suck when the pressure is on?

I don't think it has to do with pressure, he's performed under pressure before. I don't know what it is, honestly. He's just either there or he isn't. There doesn't seem to be any kind of rhyme or reason as to why or when he decides to show up and play.
