Just got back from the game. The first goal against us sapped the life out of the crowd.
I actually thought they responded well to the first goal. They started getting loud after that shift by the Griere-McCormick-Boyes line and got really loud after Staff's goal.

I think just like the team did, they gave up after they screwed up the 5-on-3. And that was it.

Only one way to find out, I guess. Should be interesting when the off-season rolls around either way.

Defensive zone turnovers.
The 5-on-3 group should've been Gragnani-Myers (Tyler for one-timers) on the points, and Stafford-Vanek-Gerbe up front. If you want Goose to take the faceoff and get off the ice, fine, but what a wretched call by Ruff on the 5-on-3.

This reminds me of the year I thought we had one of those 'special' teams with Hawerchuk, Lafontaine, Mogilny and Fuhr: then we met Montreal in the playoffs and were knock out only to see the Habs go on to win the cup. This is a good Flyers team.

In general, I'm not ready to give up on this team, however, they still haven't shown anything against the Flyers that makes me think they can win this series.

It did but after the Sabres tied it up the crowd was rockin' again and it was noisy as hell for the rest of the first period. If they could have scored on that late 4 minute powerplay the place would have exploded.

It's fine if you think that--I happen not to agree with you--but you can't take the position that the defense did all the work in his shutout, and then subsequently turn a blind eye to the defensive gaffes (Butler on the 2nd goal, Monty on the 3rd goal) this evening and on Saturday. Which is essentially what you're trying to do.

I should have gone on to say the crowd came back after they tied it up, but it was amped at its most with the Boucher chants and Let's Go Buffalo chants at the beginning.

Reffing seemed more stable tonight besides that missed high sticking.

The Flyers are just way more stacked. But it's 2-1...there's always hope.

Yeah, no doubt about that. I like that combination you said.

I was fuming when I saw Ennis out there.

Philly has way more talent all around....Looks like they decided to "flip the switch".....

I'm afraid we're in trouble.....

One good thing though, Darcy won't be allowed to sit on his laurels this off-season...It will be do something for the team or hit the high road.

I expect a boring defensive game out of Buffalo on Wednesday to try and even this series up before they go back to Philly.

I'm still there. This is much different than "They just won the division, they should at least win the first round against the Bruins."

This series is far from over.

The Sabres have handed Philadelphia the last two games on a silver platter.

Philly isn't beating the Sabres...the Sabres are beating the Sabres.

I'd say it's some of both. We're definitely getting out played for large stretches.

We're also shooting ourselves in the foot.

Then reloading, and taking out the other foot.

They sure as hell better come out flying in Game 4. Can't afford to go down 3-1.

I'd love to see how Boucher would do against Philly's offense with the Sabres defensive core in front of him.

There were many weak areas to tonight's game. Coaching, defense, forecheck, Passing, Power Play.

To say Ruff is a terrible coach or Miller is a terrible goalie is shortsighted immaturity. To make blanket statements, shows that, and it's pitiful.
Because next game or next year you change your mind. And that is also shortsighted immaturity. Over the long haul, the entire season, entire career, or past history (long term) is the person in question not to your standard of that position?
What is your standard and is it truly realistic to have that standard?

It has been said here a few times ... The series is 2-1 .... FAAAAAAR from over. So bridge jumpers ... How about you jump and NEVER come back to the bridge, you're not needed as a fan.

For those that this does not apply, good for you. I am glad you have your head on straight!
