Parse IN for Game 5

http://lakingsinsider.com/2011/04/18...ack-to-normal/

Rich Hammond listed Parse/Moller on the lineup card so does anyone know what Parse's status is?

It seems like he's 100% from what ive read recently. TM is hesitant to put him in the lineup. If we lose a game or two in the series I can see TM putting him in somewhere. I'm anxious to see what he can do now that hes healthy.

He's not gonna be anywhere near game shape. I don't expect to see him in unless someone goes down.

If Parse was more in game shape, I'd agree. We're married to Penner, so might as well get used to him being in the lineup regardless of performance for the rest of the playoffs at least.

Stop. This is ridiculous. We JUST won 4-0 without Parse. I don't see where you could possibly plug him in. He doesn't bring anything. Enough.

How can you say he doesn't bring anything? I wouldn't play him due to bigging out of game shape but if he was in game shape I don't see how he can be much worse than Penner has been, or Westgarth is likely to be nine times out of ten.

He doesn't. How can you say that he CAN?

I'm pretty sure he'd be an upgrade over Westgarth.

Why don't you elaborate? You're the only one claiming he brings nothing. He's got more skill than Westgarth for one and would play with more desire than Penner has shown in all his games combined since showing up here.

Penner is garbage. Dude has been a no show since kopi went down. Anson Carter would be more effective right now. I would welcome poni on the first line, parse on the fourth, and bench penner. I thought he would be the answer to our prayers but has turned out to be a lazy piece of ****. Dude's new nickname should be "emo" cuz he seems to be emotional. Is he pissed cuz he got traded? Is he pissed cuz he is the new guy? Does he feel uncomfortable in the locker room? Is it something personal? I have never seen such a talent be soooo lazy. This is the playoffs!!!! What is going through his head? Bench the ****er. And bench westy too. Now that I think about, a line of parse, Lewis, and moller probably wouldn't be that bad

Like your original "He doesn't" was so insightful.

Even though we won the game without really changing the lineup, the sharks are not going to just lie down for game 3. I expect them to make a LOT of adjustments, so we shouldn't sit back and not try to bring more offense because of one victory. Maybe if we can win tonight and depend on DD again, I wouldn't be saying this, but I still feel we need more offensive forwards.

You really shouldn't need it spelled out, but I'll give it a shot - Last year, Scott Parse averaged right around .5 PPG in VERY limited ice time. This year, he managed a goal and 3 assists in 5 games while playing with a not completely-healed hip. All Scott Parse has done in a Kings uniform is produce in the limited time he's gotten.

His stamina/game-shape is the only thing that should be keeping him off the ice. If he's healthy and in game shape, we're a better team with him on the ice.

Penner needs a 'players coach.' There's a reason he butted heads with McTavish and played better under Quinn/Renney for the most part, despite a weaker team. Now he's with Murray who rags on him when he plays bad and what happens? He goes into his shell.

He's a 6'4 behemoth who lets his emotions control him. Sad thing is his emotions are that of a 12-year-old girl who just got snubbed of a date for the elementry school sock hop.

So, still waiting for a reason why he shouldn't be in for someone after game three, particularly Penner. Got any reasoning whatsoever two out of three?

Hammond today:

Also, to answer another question asked semi-regularly, Scott Parse is not yet ready to play, so he’s not an option.

Here’s how the Kings’ forwards are skating this morning, with the first three lines listed in no particular order…

Parse-Handzus-Williams
Smyth-Lewis-Brown
Clifford-Richardson-Simmonds
Penner/Stoll/Ponikarovsky/Westgarth/Moller

The last five forwards are all in green jerseys, so it’s impossible to say how that line might look, but it would appear as though Scott Parse’s return might be on the horizon. More updates to come…

Hammond

Well obviously Murray isn't happy with Stoll and Penner. Weird that Poni is on the 4th line when he scored a goal.

Lol why is it weird that Poni is on the 4th line? His play all year hasn't deserve anything but 4th line duties. This definitely means Stoll is in the doghouse though.

I think its a good move, I think Parse is going to change some stuff up and bring some more energy to this team.

I feel a little better going into Saturday's game.

Even without Kopitar, this years playoffs have been so disappointing. Last year Doughty, Johnson, Kopitar, Simmonds all put up points and good games and key goals...Modin was the unsung hero.

This year it's been all disappointments except for Brad Richardson.

Penner stinks, Stoll has been up and down, Martinez had a bad game, Greene has taken awful penalties, Doughty had one good game and has 3 bad games. Brown has thrown the body but the points aren't there. Smyth has been better than last year, but too little too late.
