Sure for the right price, but odds are he stays in WSH. Need to keep in mind the guy from the last month isn't exactly the same player from the last couple years. Arnott struggled on NJ and then goes to a winner and does well. Odds are he comes here and struggles up until the trade deadline.

This. The fans and media of Edmonton gave Arnott no reason to consider coming back here. Plus, he will probably want a chance at another cup, not a chance to be a mentor on a bottom feeder.

It's been time for Jason Arnott to be brought back since the day he was pushed out.

Why on earth would he WANT to come back here?

He was basically made persona non grata by the fans who essentially forced Slats´ hand in dealing him.

Comrie came back because of different management, and cuz it´s his home town.

If I were in Arnott´s shoes, Edmonton would be the last place I´d want to go.

I'd consider Doug Weight and Smyth long before him. They would be useful on our third/fourth line, schoolin the kids.

Send a message via MSN to thadd
I think he'll sign for cheap to stay in Washington if he doesn't want to retire yet.

Arnott, not so much.

Smitty for sure.

Doug Weight struck me as being pretty sour when he was here. Not Souray-like, but still more vocal than necessary.

When was Weight sour? They guy was willing to play here for mere peanuts compared to his worth

I can't remember what News media outlet said but it had to do with the C.B.A. that Weight had to reject the Oilers offer because he was accepting below market value. He of course signed for 8 million with the Blues. The Oilers didn't go that high up, but based on the fact at the time with the weak Canadian dollar he would come out making more money here just because his salary was still in American dollars (btw thats not speculation on my part just been so long ago don't have the article )

The point is he wanted to stay here, and I know after the Pronger debacle him and Bill Guerin openly came out and said they enjoyed there time in Edmonton.

I remember just a couple years ago (or maybe less time) Jim Matheson said that Weight was probable one of the most respectful and professional athletes throughout his whole career he had the privilege knowing.

I always thought Weight was a class act. He has always had the rep of being a great guy in the room.

One could say he already has been on the team for the last 5 years
