Kings/Ducks in London 2007

Hey all,

I know it's the playoffs and not the ideal time for this but:

I am currently writing a paper in my Sports Management program about the big four games played in Europe and selected the Ducks/Kings in London. I have had mixed success in terms of sources and articles. Does anyone have any information as to why London was selected? And the Kings and Ducks, as well? I know the Kings were in large part, due to Anschutz and AEG owning the 02 Arena but cannot find substantial information on any of the involved parties or a really good profile of AEG and Anschutz. Any and all help is appreciated.

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but go to Google, select news, search for 'kings ducks london' and then click on 2007 on the left-hand side to limit the returns. I just tried it and got links to lots of news articles from the time about the games.

No, it didn't. I know that, and have researched through that but need something more substantial than the bulk of the articles that are listed there which are almost all newspaper articles. This is a 15 page paper for a Financial Principles class so, I was hoping that LA fans may have known about a featured article somewhere done on the game or Anschutz that I hadn't found.

how long do you have to do research? again, hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but you could try emailing/calling the AEG offices or something like that? as a fellow student i know you're probably against that idea just because those kind of requests often get blown off. i had a lot of experience with that when i was writing my 80-page thesis (not on the kings, but still). but it's always worth a shot, since all it'll cost is a few minutes of time, especially if you're just sending out a bunch of emails.
