I like how both Clowe and McLellan dismiss the idea that the fans or lack thereof had anything to do with the conclusions he is drawing. Oh and the comment about the personal insults from behind the bench. haha!

I believe it was Sharks fans that were booing their own team the other night. But they are a cut above, no doubt.

its lakingsnews.com.

I probably won't have a chance to finish it until later this afternoon. Started it, but I'll post the link here when I'm done after errand running.

... So, you mean to tell me that this guy gets paid to do what he does??? Because if so, then, damn.

I'm with the rest here in hoping that the fans who are there tonight make themselves heard.

my reply to Purdy (sent to his e-mail)

Mr Purdy:

Assuming you are able to obtain a press credential to attend STAPLES tonight, and you do so,
and even given the architectural advantage your team and its fans have by playing in an oversized gymnasium,
if our crowd tonight isn't significantly LOUDER than yours was on Saturday night,
(I sat in section 116, row 10 and it was pretty quiet in there -
so much so that me and my friend can be heard on the Fox Sports West Broadcast
shouting GO KINGS GO and getting the crowd to boo at us),
I will gladly purchase for you and your date (again assuming you can get one)
2 KENNY G seats the next time he visits your sleepy little bedroom community.

Signed,

DIEHARD, the KING FAN

I was there last year for Game 3 and I'll be there tonight. Game 3 last year was the loudest I've ever heard a building in my life. You literally couldn't hear a word coming from the PA. Game 4 was noticeably lower in energy because I think everyone still had their voices gone.

I'm not a globetrotter or anything but I've been to a handful of places that might be considered "loud".. Kings playoff games at the Forum, Joe Louis during regular season, the Winter Classic in Buffalo, the Rose Bowl a few times, a handful of games at Yost and the Big House in Ann Arbor.

I expect to hear the same tonight. I would say that during the regular season, Staples isn't ever that intense but I think at least part of that has to do with the size of the building. Although, I think Chicago Stadium is bigger and is generally louder.

Purdy is an ass. All of his columns are troll-like in nature and he's getting exactly what he wants out of Kings' fans: comments on his article. That's like feeding his soulless gullet. He seriously lives off of people's harsh comments to his articles because they bring hits to the site and his stuff in particular.

If your going to troll atleast know what your talking about.

Staples should do a noise meter tonight and the louder the crowd gets, the more Purdy gets punched

Well, he succeeded in actually trolling by looks of this thread and twitterland, etc.

Pretty sure he had more website hits today than he's had in a while.

There was a guy in our section with one last year in the last row of the upper deck. That was before the World Cup and before I knew what one was but that thing was friggin loud by itself.

He's not that well regarded in the Bay Area. But in any case, the Kings have both better attendance per game, overall, and based on percentage of available seats compared to the Sharks. That said, they are pretty equal to each other at least in butts in the stands and the Sharks are a bunch of wine sipping pansies as we all know. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Kings fans. Hows that for bulletin board material .....

We don't give hits to those we dislike at lakingsnews.com

We steer hits away from their sites.

We direct attention where it belongs, on the Kings side of things.

We don't let ignorance go without a response. As promised, here is that response:

You’ve probably already read the gem of an article by Mark Purdy at the Mercury News.

If you haven’t yet, please, don’t bother. I will not post his article, or a link to it, on this website. I don’t want that trash clogging up my words. You know, filth by association. What I will do, is mention the name Mark Purdy many, many times. Not for your benefit, for google’s. The goal here is to direct any hits that San Jose Shark’s Mercury News Columnist Mark Purdy would get on his website to this article, where his stupidty can be derided with no fringe benefit to himself or his website. As we call it, the NHL Referee Dean Morton treatment.

What's the purpose of this article?

I'm pretty sure LA Fans are the same people that damn near killed one of their baseball fans. I'll have to remind the skalp tattooed gang member on the corners wearing Kings gear that he's so Kenny G.
